Good morning, Bob and everybody. Great start!
Avatar 9:44am Cat:

Recently watched Dan Hick & The Hot Licks on an episode of Flip Wilson - fantastic. I was quite surprised to learn that he had that level of fame to be on national TV. A beautiful soul.
  9:45am Stuart Rose:

In the past few weeks, San Francisco has suffered a bunch of losses from its glorious 60s scene.
Paul Kantner, Signe Tolle Anderson, and now Dan Hicks.
  9:52am ?:

I was dreaming about the Free Design and you go and play you can be born again and that's what made me remember my dream. man that's crazy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Great show to wake up to today!
Dan Hicks - so talented & distinctive. Someone suggested his influence on Tom Waits. (Oh - yeah.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@S.Rose: Especially considering Dan in the Charlatans.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:58am WilliamfromDumont:

I witnessed Dan Hicks threatening a promoter once. A nice guy but he was all business when it came to making sure he got paid. As it should be.
  10:06am Moe:

Saw cat mother and the all night news boys do a radio promo outside with a bunch of other bands somewhere in Maryland near dc, they headlined... They were good, nothing too original but a tight rock and roll band...
  10:07am Stuart Rose:

Rev,
Yeah, and the Charlatans haven't got much attention over the years. But a lot of their stuff- there aren't many recordings, are there?- have held up well.
  10:09am josh:

Hey guys. What was the track with the chugging beat and 'Wooaah-wooah' refrain', just before Bob started speaking
  10:10am JoeChrisMorris:

Bob's playing Halfbrickling. What a surprise!
  10:10am JoeChrisMorris:

wasn't this played in Don'T Look Back?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@JoeCM: Yes, Joan Baez. Made an impression on me.
  10:13am josh:

  10:17am moe:

oh, Petra … I love this! Bill's Bonanza and picking here not too shabby either.
Avatar 10:24am Cat:

Josh, that 'whoa whoa' number sounded like Montego Bay to me

  10:34am JoeChrisMorris:

Georgy Girl was a film! with James Mason!
Avatar 10:36am SheWolf:

I love the Knick & I agree that the soundtrack is very effective even though it shouldn't work it does brilliantly.
  10:37am Dean:

What's the deal with Iain versus Ian Matthews?
  10:45am Stuart Rose:

Thanks, Rev and Moe, for the print and video side dish recommendations.

Hey, Bob, if you like studio sound weirdness, how about playing Pierre Schaffer, the musique concrete pioneer, in the future. He's got one piece that's a solo for tape doctored squeaking door, if my memory hasn't gone completely south.
  10:59am Listener Robert:

Yay, Bob, & stay "hot" when you leave!
