Hard to believe considering his album "The 8 Wives of Henry The 8th"

and, coincidentally, "and you and i" must've been one of the first, if not THE first, "rock"/"pop" song i ever heard on wfmu...probably in 1978.

This is wonderful. I grew up with Real radio; what happened to it?? It's so discouraging.
Thank you for WFMU.
coelacanth:

So, did I miss out on "Real Radio" when I was growing up? I know I've never hear another radio station as freeform as WFMU, in fact it never even occurred to me before I came across WFMU 10 years ago that a radio station would regularly play completely different genres of music or let the DJs play whatever they feel like.
* WSEN in Syracuse....I was thinking/hoping just now that it was WHEN, makers of the infamous FCC-banned EBS test jingle (youtu.be...) but some googling shows that they they have an Adult Contemporary format. Well, we weren't allowed to listen to THEM either in the house, so at least my sometime-draconian parents have some good taste ;)

WFMU and WICB in Ithaca, NY were the two stations that helped keep me sane in college and grad school!

Thanks Dave, and goodnight everyone, and thanks for putting up with my ramblings about the Syracuse radio scene ;)
