"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Morning everyone.

I am reminded of Toop's Museum of Fruit. Is the Dream Pavillion a real building?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am AndrewC.:

Ah, no, it's a dance. www.importantrecords.com...
  7:05am Ike:

Oh bassy mumbler DJ: Shall I compare thee to an overcast day? Thou art more gurgly and more intemperate. Rough winds do shake my stereo coming out of yr voice! Also, this music is really good.
Avatar 7:10am John Allen:

Ike, you know darn well that this is a process, and by 8:55 the sun is in full shine regardless of the forcast
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am Ken From Hyde Park:

Yippee! Here come the whales!
Avatar 7:48am Wild Neil:

Good morning John et al! Peace be unto you all.
Avatar 7:55am Wild Neil:

@John-were you a DJ back in the early to mid 90's? I think you might have been, please refresh my memory...
Avatar 8:01am John Allen:

yeah I've been here since 92
Avatar 8:19am Wild Neil:

@John-well, I have discovered some great music b ack in the 90's on your show I am sure, and recently as well...your show and WFMU does what Pandora dreams of...sometimes WFMU forces me to confront music I would rather not deal with, but sometimes that is a really good thing! For example, I NEVER would have sought out Jew's harp music, but thanks to WFMU I now appreciate it more...
Avatar 8:23am John Allen:

Neil, it was Jew's harp music that found YOU
Avatar 8:31am Wild Neil:

This Barry Miles Jazz is the kind of Jazz that I like. What sub-genre of Jazz is it?
Avatar 8:34am John Allen:

I think it's "scat' jazz
