Great seeing you too @Duane! Been reading up on Vanity 6 and there are so many half hilarious/ half disturbing stories—Prince wanted to call them the Hookers, he thought Vanity should originally be named Vagina, and 6 is the number of the group's breast count. Ha!

Linda Lee; She dated Nikki Sixx after she broke up with Prince for 4 years (!). Sixx put out a book called the "Heroin Diaries" which documented the crazy Heroin addiction years...it's pretty crazy read!!

During my days as an A&R scout, I was asked to put together a girl group in the style of Vanity 6/ Mary Jane Girls. "Strippers that sing!" was the brief. I said okay, left the meeting, and was then like, "Hmmm...perhaps this is not what I should be doing with my A&R career. Nor what I should be doing to young girls!" I never called the label back.

LL: Yeah it's interesting because they were like a gang/art collective and the were all pretty much kids. Vanity was around 21-23. Sheila E around the same age.. and Prince was about 20..and they all ended up kind born again when it's all said and done.

RObyn: This is a interview w/ Prince circa '86 on the Electrifyin Mojo's radio show and it's great because he reveals a lot about the inner workings of their scene...LL: That book has a lot of extensive interviews with Wendy & Lisa, the other girls in V6..it's pretty cool
