I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Welcome back, Mayuko, and happy birthday, Edward Gorey!

Thank you for tuning in, james, glad to be back!

Ken From Hyde Park:

I guess the background color and what day it is today is a metaphor (or a riddle, maybe?) for the song from New Order.
Avatar 5:13pm
Mayuko:

haha, are you disregarding the message right away, Ken!? Thanks for tuning in! It's literally from my favorite Edward Gorey book L'Heure Bleue = The Blue Hour.
Avatar 5:13pm
Mayuko:

I think it's appropriate since the blue hour happens during my show.

hey, it's cat day in japan. happy cat day!

The album mentions Blue Velvet, but this would work for Blade Runner, too!

Oh hell yes, "Bela"!

ah that's true, it's neow (it seems Japanese cats don't meow) x3 day. I'm prepared for that too, glenn! www.instagram.com...

that waffle looked pretty good for having been preserved for 15 years, though.

It's not officially a blue moon out there, but it sure is bright up in the eastern sky.

The moon last night was already very bright and quite rounded, I can't see it from the window here but I'll see after my show!

Total full moon today. Next blue moon in May
Avatar 6:52pm

So the end of May? The second full moon in a month is blue moon, right?

I was a fan of both Michael Mantler and Terie Rypdal but didn't know their collaboration "The Hapless Child And Other Inscrutable Stories". Thanks for introducing it at you show. Later found the CD was $$$!
Avatar 10:20pm
Mayuko:

Yah somehow that CD is very expensive, but its mp3s are reasonable price on Amazon and LPs are ok prices on Discogs for some reason (if you don't think about the shipping... which can be crazy depending on where you are...) Glad you enjoyed the show, thank you so much for listening!

fred:

Great show again, Mayuko. Listening to Tanji Modern Grup reminded of NOLA music in some way. Which is a good thing. Another weird thing is that I somehow missed Bauhaus back in the day. To me it was just the intro to the Dirtbombs's cover of Kung Fu. I only got it like a couple years ago.
And the comments made this show even more frightfully accurate: I had an intense dream that featured a New Order soundtrack last night
Avatar 10:52pm
Mayuko:

What's NOLA music? I'm curious! Dream with New Order doesn't sound too nightmarish to me although it totally could be intense, I guess!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm
fred:

NOLA is just shorthand for New Orleans, Louisiana.
That dream was a nightmare having me trying to climb out of a rain-forest sinkhole only to be shredded by a giant eagle, all to the tune of New Order's Perfect Kiss
