hi efd and funksters. the 70s start always puts a smile on my face.

efd:

thanks jon! Happy to have you here.

Will:

Hey is that Julian Cope?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm
efd:

not as far as I know! This was out around the same time Teardrop Explodes was starting, so I think it's just the sound of the time, in a way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm
Figgsrock:

Oh man, I had forgotten how great this Redd Kross track was!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm

Hi Evan, Steve and all.
Re. Saucy Jacks: Tilbrook and Difford can't get no satisfaction?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm
efd:

Hi Eddy! Sorry but my brain is not processing your comment right now -- could be simply due to being in the throes of the show.
  9:52pm
Eddy in Australia:

Oh! I thought the vocals sound a bit like Squeeze, while the riff sounds like the Stones.
By the way, Trevor White is kinda curious. There seems to be some conjecture online over whether he is the same guy who played Jesus in the '70s Australian production of JCS.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm
Stevel:

Hey Eddy!

Scraper was pretty sharp. Displaying a bit of edge tonight.

Oh Jesus, I broadcast out of there about every other week. Stop crying. It's a poor craftsman that blames his tools. Looking forward to co-hosting your marathon show!

CD3 has no taste. Love pre-marathon adjustments.

@Eddy in Australia re Saucy Jacks: vocally they reminded me a bit of the Rembrandts.

For the sake of experiment, I thought I'd wash the mid-week clothes before midnight for a change. Seems to be working well; I don't have to put them into the dryer in the middle of the night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm
efd:

I have to admit I'm intrigued by the concept of "mid-week clothes."
  11:41pm
JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: Mazel Tov!
Avatar The Evan "Funk" Davies Show Hellraiser 2024 Swag For Life Member 11:49pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I usually run a load on the weekend and start off with all clean clothes on Monday. Then I run another load in the middle of the work week. "Mid-week clothes" was probably not the best phrasing. Time now to pour a Mazel Tov cocktail to celebrate.
  11:49pm
kWitch:

What is that track you're playing between sets? It's got the groove.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52pm
efd:

Thanks for the explanation, KfHP!

kWitch, the talkover music is a loop of "Saturday Night Fever" by the Lordz of Brooklyn, from the early '90s, which includes a sample of the Guess Who's "American Woman."

Thanks, EFD. Dutchess County, NY, was spared. Yay, me!
