Hi JG, What's up w/Doug?

@Toby: his mom passed away a couple of days ago.

Still getting the hang of Sunday! (Being up til 2 doesn't help.) How do, Jeff and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am
Jeff Golick:

Up til 2!? Raging, were you, @ljfw? Will hope to ease your transition into daylight.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:28am

Yeah, the 40something version of raging: boardgaming. :D

Love it. What are the games of choice?
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:37am
listener james from westwood:

Two that were new to me: Sheriff of Nottingham, a bluffing-type game, and another that takes place in ancient Egypt, a resource-management game whose name escapes me.

I'm into OUT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am
Jeff Golick:

@Toby, thanks. BTW, this Harry Miller tune was recorded 27 Jan 1978, just fyi.

I did not know before today Deval Patrick's connection to the Arkestra!

The Marathon Man! Hey, @UM, you recovered from Friday? That was amazing.

I'm going to need to be Rolfed, I believe. And thank you.

Rowlf was one of the very earliest "modern" Muppets, along with Kermit, wasn't he? He was on comedy or talk shows in the B&W era, IIRC.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:07am
Uncle Michael:

Yeah, he made his bones on Ed Sullivan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am
Jeff Golick:

I think Kitty Kelley wrote about the Rowlf/Fozzy blood feud. Something about a knife fight one coke-fueled night after the '68 Emmy's.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:18am
Uncle Michael:

In all fairness, all those years Fozzy spent writing for Rowlf and watching him take the bows was bound to take it's toll. When Rowlf gave that Emmy speech, Fozzy just snapped. Rowlf was never the same without him and we see who got the last laugh. History hasn't been kind to the old dog.

...w/ that trauma, Rowlf could benefit from getting Rolfed...

Thanks for bringing us full circle, @RRN63, and for being here!

"Red Bird is both a piece of music and an allegory of political oppression. It uses the sounds of birds, animals, words ("listen to reason"), & mechanisms, which are 'orchestrated' & transformed into one another".
Recorded at University of York Electronic Studio between May 1973 & May 1977.
