	2:40pm Clay: I'm reminded of the time the Kenton band went "soul" for about 5 minutes circa 1966. We were playing at Marineland as I recall and a certain Mr. Pickett happened to be in the audience. Well, Stan invited him onstage and we ran through a ramshackle version of "Land of 1000 Dances." The crowd loved it! By the end of an extended improvisational section (featuring a lengthy bone solo by yours truly) Stan was weaving in and amongst the footlights, dancing madly and exhorting the crowd to "Get up! Get up!" Mr. Pickett thought the whole episode was hilarious. Management was not as amused. We never played Marineland again.
