It's not a specific song but an entire show. Specifically I'd like you to recreate the show recorded on June 28rd, 1996, including its respective mic breaks, commentary and everything. A live archive request if you like.
Alternatively you can play whatever you want (e.g Mueran Hermanos' El Circulo).
Morning Ken and friends. The corgi cabbage gif is amazing. It is a favorite on my profile page. I've got a nice collection of them on there now from this show.
(looks at Marcel's profile) I like the corgi cabbage gif too! Good morning everyone :)

We should have an Artificial Intelligence chatbot in here to keep us entertained before the show starts. It would interact with us providing musical insights and unknown facts about WFMU DJs.
I read online that Microsoft is having trouble with one of their chatbots, it now believes that all Japanese people like anime and won't stop talking to you about it if it finds out you're from Japan.
"A version of this review appears in print on March 30, 2016, on page C6 of the New York edition with the headline: What Radio Sounds Like, Hanging by a Shoestring."
"Sex and Broadcasting," With an emphasis on the latter... hahahahah... it sounds like a joke Andy Breckman would make!

Die cabbages, die! I hate you! I hate you all! My mom was run over by a cabbage truck. Here's what I think of you, stinking cabbages! Now you're cole slaw, ah-hahahahahahahahahaah!
It's true Marcel. It sucks that all the sex was edited out of the documentary but there you go. I qwill be there doing a live Q&A after the 730pm show at IFC tonight.
That's excellent news. I'll take a bow for debuting them. Doing so got attention from a member of UK band called Atomic Suplex, who are also pretty cool.

Can't get enough of "Corgi vs. Cabbage", thanks!
And congrats on the good review in the Times. The reviewer seemed a bit bewildered by it all, but ultimately grokked well, for an outlander.
So, how'd everyone like this week's episode of Vinyl in which Richie conceives of the entire alt-country/Americana movement about 15 years early while making a pitch to sign Elvis?
Die gong, die! I hate you! I hate you all! My dad was run over by a gong truck. Here's what I think of you, stinking gong! I'll beat you to death and write a song about how much I hate you! Ah-hahahahahahahahahaah!
off topic--re: Record Store Day, is there any way to know where a particular limited edition record might be for sale? I've never shopped on RSD and was hoping to get a special Feelies EP. Thx for any info

Ken,
Did you know Laibach played live in North Korea few months ago ? The first western band that has ever played over there.
I think there are at least 2 RSDs now.. and Brian, I think you just need to go when they open and fight your way through, avoiding the Phish fans who want their box sets.
Joking aside...You know whose profile I found on Tinder around London just few days ago? Gwenno's! Her profile pic is her singing on stage. I was flabbergasted!
@Brian C - you could call the record store beforehand and ask. Don't listen to Marcel - judging from his comment, he hasn't attended a RSD in quite a while. No Phish box sets!
Haha.. I have a friend who works in a record store and complains about Phish fans coming in on record store day. I actually have never been to one, they seem really hellish, at least in NYC.
@SeanG & Marcel M- I like Phish. But I also like Replacements, Neil Young, Mission of Burma..and have been listening to WFMU off and on since 1985. My music taste are all over the map. As far as Phish fans hitting RSD, I've never encountered them on line in Atlanta. Most are hipsters.
I am Ken, like I noted earlier this is where Richie invents the alt-country movement while pitching Elvis 15 years ahead of the actual alt-country movement.
Ken. Ken. Listen to me. You need to put this on the playlist as Vinyl Time, like Amanda's Simpsons time. This should be a regular feature of the show, and it needs to have a link on the playlist for easy access.
re : "Do It". Pink Fairies song covered by the Rollins Band.

This is why I haven't been able to watch vinyl yet, I know I'm just gonna be so infuriated by the lost opportunity that it will be a challenge to learn to enjoy it for how bad it is...
I'll get over it..
Internet Explorer was pretty smartly programmed when it came to remotely-updated pages (deciding whether to use cached versions or not), but not so Edge.
5 secs after the updated playlist data comes, Edge is reverting to a version that was cached minutes earlier. I guess that's better than going blank, but still....
And the MSIE is incompatible w Win 10!

Sounds similar to Cyriaks Sheep tune . Not baaaa -aaad
That's not the only function that seems to have been lost with Edge. The "save" feature doesn't query me for the directory I want the files in. I have to open Downloads & move them.
Thanks. I may well try another browser. I technically don't own this laptop (as the guy who got it for me reminded me days ago) & have been very conservative about installing programs on it.

"That's not the only function that seems to have been lost with Edge."
However, I do regret not having made this dual-boot, Windows & Linux, when we got it. I chickened out largely because it came w Windows preinstalled & no install'n media.
Amazing! DJ Rosie in the haus, what's her secret gift?

I think the best show Ken has ever produced is one he made few years ago which wasn't archived because it never went on air (a storm had just blew away the transmitter). It is his most uninhibited, unrestrained show because it was streamed online without any FCC restrictions. I still remember what I was doing when I heard the show.

The 1st video show was stellar!
It's hard to pick a Ken fave, though!
I remember those days. Despite everyone's hardships, it was riveting radio. Immediate.

The playlist exists but points to no file archive. But I can't remember the date. But it was during the aftermath of a hurricane that unfortunately canceled the Hippie Parade (Record Fair) that year.
I realise it's somewhat anti-democratic, but I suddenly felt nostalgic for old-money rich politicians with some sense of noblesse oblige and public probity...then again, all my grandparents were born when Victoria was Queen of England &c....and I'm not Japanese-American.
there's also a Clay Pigeon show that isn't archived. he had a robot named Randy talking and it bummed everybody out, but not me! it's like September or October of last year. I need to hear it again!
I'm not sure if this was the same hurricane, but I remember Clay Pigeon and Julie doing a marathon Saturday overnight/Sunday morning session because no one else could make it to the station, until Keili came in at 9am (and then Clay started interrogating her nonstop, heh)
What was the Bohemian Rhapsody show? Nothing but covers of Bohemian Rhapsody? I remember a show a few years ago with a set of Anarchy in the UK covers.
@Cliff: so you really haven't heard the infamous Bohemian Rhapsody show. Well it was worth it. Not that I'd be liable for any injury claim if you actually listen to it
