Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
Hiya! I've been listening while folding laundry. Thank you for providing the soundtrack, Gaylord. And for giving me a recess from the "Doris Day Show" marathon that's on TV.
Evening! Don't want to begin with pedantry but this Scott track is The World's Strongest Man rather than the playlist's Angels of Ashes. I can't help it; I'm a proofreader!
Sorry to hear they were not a couple. I’ve had thoughts of them making sweet love to each other since I was a child and now, I guess that was all a waste of time.
From what I just read online, it seems that censors insisted that Marietta Hartley could not show her belly button in that episode. Which was a wise decision, because I don’t think the youth of the 1960s could have handled such a sexy belly button.
And hunters who couldn’t kill or make out with Bugs Bunny always wanted to make soup out of him. Is there any other character in popular culture anyone wanted to make soup with other than Bugs Bunny.
oh man, that was a kristy mcnichol vs erin moran time. i'm sure they both were on circus of the stars

P-90:
Hartley later did a TV movie/series pilot for. Roddenberry, by then he could show navels, he made up for the Star Trek episode she was in by having her play a mutant with two navels, and she displayed them er, prominently.
@BGZ: sometime check out "A Date with Judy"' with teenage Elizabeth Taylor and Robert Stack, and Xavier Cougat, Carmen Miranda, and the whole bloody Cougat Orchestra
There was the episode where Bart becomes a jazz drummer, and goes around pointing at people saying things like "Xavier Cugat!" to try to sound cool, even though he has no idea who it is.

P-90:
It's like a glittery, early 50's, full-blown MGM musical version of "Archie" comics with top talent and all the trimmings. It was the first movie in Liz Taylor progressed from squeaky-clean child star to sexy ingenue.
