Still don't know what "Congliptious" means. It's a great album, though, and the expanded CD issue especially so.

Congliptious is a perfectly cromulent word
Avatar 🥁 8:59am

for me, Congliptous just means music that a cat hates because my cat is always put off by the beginning of DO radio

Gary:

Morning!

Hey earlybirds @Mark R, @duke, and @hyde. Hard to argue with @duke's assessment. Also, my cat is put off my just about everything.

Ozzie, my labradoodle, just hides under the bed in moments like this (or joins my wife, who hides on another floor). Or, to keep the peace, it generally calls for headphones.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am

I'm surprised Ozzie will wear headphones.

Dean:

OED on "congliptious": Did you mean "conceptious"? "Likely to conceive; fertile, receptive." Some guy named Shakespeare used it. What's fun is the suffix, "-ious": "with sense ‘characterized by, full of’." Compare "-uous": "with the sense ‘of the nature of, consisting of’."

Rightious!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am
Jeff Golick:

Thanks for that, @Dean. C'mon in. Maybe leave your OED on that shelf there.
  10:55am
Dean:

Had to look that up, too. Shelf: "A slab of wood (or other material) fixed in a horizontal position to a wall, or in a frame, to hold books, vessels, ornaments, etc.; one of the transverse boards in a bookcase, cabinet, or the like."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
Jeff Golick:

What do they got on "drawer." I kind of hate that word. So mushy.
  11:00am
Dean:

Heh, I was gonna get all cocky and just posit without looking, "One who draws." That is indeed the entry that first appears. I think you're interested in this one: "A box-shaped receptacle, fitting into a space in a cabinet or table, so that it can be drawn out horizontally in order to get access to it." From the verb, "To cause (anything) to move toward oneself by the application of force; to pull."
Avatar 11:03am
glenn:

speaking of drawers, anybody want to buy one of my dovetail jigs?
  11:08am

CIMP sound thin?! I'll have to compare that one to other CIMPs that are nearly ideal, sonically speaking.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am

Am thinking that Evan Parker might not feature on this part of Kirchin's four-part WwW opus. He's certainly more prominent on parts 1 & 2. Ah well.
  11:21am
Dean:

Sure wish I could make it to Guelph one of these days.

I wonder if Supertramp got the idea for including kids at the outset of "Crime of the Century" from this Kirchin. Seems unlikely, but maybe not.
