Morning Bob
  9:12am Cooh John:

Good morning BB and duke.
  9:12am David Greenberger:

"Pilgrim's Progress"! What a lead off song! A favorite of mine, but one I always wished Brooker would have sung instead of Fischer. There is a live version with Brooker singing it that a friend found for me a few years ago.

It was Red Rodney whom Wayne Kramer met in prison. Kramer says Red taught him theory.

In the mid/late 80's I worked in a record shop in New Milford (NJ) and Red Rodney literally lived around the corner. He would come in once in awhile, usually with one of his sons. Nice people.
  9:46am Wendy del Formaggio:

Slim Gaillard! Thanks, Bob!
  9:54am Stuart Rose:

Any recommendations on what Procul Harum album to get- beside A Salty Dog?
  10:02am David Greenberger:

Stuart - the first three all are richly rewarding - s/t debut, then Shine On Brightly, which is better recorded and has a couple of their finest songs (title track and Quite Rightly So), followed by Salty Dog.
  10:10am Mark R.:

Stuart, there's also a really nice 30th Anniversary collection available. It's 4 discs, very comprehensive. It's got all those albums David mentioned, complete, plust some nice bonus stuff. It's over $30, but for all the music you get, it's still a good value, I think. You might not be looking for anything that comprehensive, but as a big fan of the band, I've found it indispensable.

Now play the whole song, Bob! I miss Robbie Trower!
  10:15am John:

@DaveinPA: Yeah, man! As is, it stands as a drum feature!

Agree Will....the ghost of Robin Trower was in my head.
