Thank you for mentioning Prince, Michael. Radio has been strangely silent remembering him.
Avatar 11:37am Juke Joint Jonny:

Least Beatle-esque Beatle tribute record? And maybe the best because of that?
  11:37am P-90:

Ha! I also heard that nails-scratching-on-blackboard "expert analysis" of the Ramones. And that "invented the merch table" thing had me and my friend laughing out loud. More reason why I listen to less and less NPR.
  11:40am 1whoknewcthulhu:

NPR--Not Pro-Ramones
Avatar 11:40am ChooChoo - ATL:

RE: Rock and Roll criticism. I think Aretha Franklin said it best: When you hear something good, you say: "Baby, you MOVE ME!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am myron feld:

Carol Kaye was sick the day they cut "Let's Dance On" so that's why there's no bass on it. True story.
  11:40am ?:

As a songwriter and rock musician, I couldn't agree more. Your take on love applies to rock music as well: when you know, you know. No analysis required, and no amount of analysis will change it.
Avatar 11:47am Marc Francis:

@ Miss Mailas: You are the bestest.
  11:47am P-90:

Yay! "I Love to Singa!" Do we know who this was?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Parq:

Hope this isn't stating the obvious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Gaylord Fields:

@P-90: Owl Jolson, of course! (Okay, he was voiced by Tommy Bond, a.k.a. "Butch" of the Little Rascals.)
Avatar 11:50am Michael Shelley:

Is that Butch singing????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Gaylord Fields:

@Michael Shelley: Yes! And it kinda explains his resentment toward Alfalfa, if you think about it.
Avatar 11:52am Michael Shelley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Gaylord Fields:

And thanks for the dedication! David Gates + The Blossoms = No. 1 hit!
  11:53am P-90:

That was Tommy Bond? Long-standing question answered! Thanks, and kudos, DJ Gaylord!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am ChrisB.:

I have that Tommy Bond bio too, Michael, but IMDB (and Gaylord)confirms Tommy Bond.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Gaylord Fields:

@P-90: Useless factoids at your disposal! That's what I provide.

How old was Johnny Burnette when he wrote that song, I wonder?
