Welcome and good evening, all.

Hey Dave! How you be?

Dave Mandl:

Hey there, Jake. Doing OK, thanks.

JakeGould:

@Dave: Cool. And to follow up on our Twitter convo, here is a fairly great piece on Irv Teibel and his “Environments” LPs. www.atlasobscura.com...

Hi ho it's off to the world of echo we go.

Hola, PMD.
Avatar 10:14pm
Dave Mandl:

@Jake: I saw that piece but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Looks pretty comprehensive.
  10:15pm
JakeGould:

Nah, no problem… I have no expectations of anyone reading anything on demand!

Long shot: Anybody here know if Listener Tracy's WF-MU-QK goose is still with us? I just got a sudden urge to ask, but no apparent way to search for a profile.

@Robert: No idea, unfortunately.

@IXK: You're not here at FMU making fresh pasta, are you? That would be so great.

@ LRobert: What was her FMU ID exactly? I have used the Googles to find profiles...

Hey there, RRN63.

Listener Robert:

Thanks, Rabbit, but I already tried Googling the site for "Listener Tracy", which is how she was identified for her mascot entry.

Hey Dave, nice stuff tonight! This tune reminds me I saw the Miles flick last night- dug it.
  10:38pm
Listener Robert:

I hope they did that synthetically, rather than by running back & forth between 2 microphones.

Sure I've mentioned & half sure it's okay to again - that I saw AcidMothersTemple end three days of Psychedelic bands @ Terrastock V. An unenviable task (by then you've OD'd on every kind of Psych) - but they did this ably & I had to duck bits of flying Stratocaster to preserve my wellbeing...

Hey there, Santos, L.R.

@Santos: I've seen mixed reviews of the Miles Davis film. Good to hear a positive take on it. I need to check it out one way or another.

Heya Dave and listeners.

@mark: Could be, but it was pretty much spur-of-the-moment, as usual.

@Santos: You liked it?! I'm glad to hear it's not a disaster. This review says the acting is tops but not the writer & directing sort of thing... :

Often wonder what the World would sound like (& look like) w/out the Velvet Underground
...Can we even imagine it if there's been no Pink Floyd?

...would everyone have found those spaces anyhow, just out of need brought them from the Avant Guard into distribution?...

Checking in before I check out from the keyboard and listen to the thunder roll in as the Echo rolls along...great stuff tonight, Dave.

I thought it was a gas, Cheadle is great, fun seeing depictions of all those cats in his bands. Lots of great electric period stuff in the score.

What manner of instrument is this?
Avatar 11:08pm

They're trying to reverse-engineer dinosaurs from chickens by turning off more recent genes. Perhaps the dish could go along those lines...

Apropos to nothing, but anyone else been disappointed with the potatoes (russet) they are selling around NYC/NJ in the past few months? Just starchy crap that won»’t even bake right.
  11:40pm
mark Flynnn:

Love this track. Any advice on how to get it without forking out $35.00 for the cd?
Avatar 11:40pm
Dave Mandl:

Haven't bought any recently, so I can't say. But they usually have pretty good stuff in my neighborhood (food coop).
  11:41pm
JakeGould:

@DaveMandl: Actually I’m a food coop member (Park Slope?) as well, and the potatoes of far this year have been amazing. But the last 3lb bag I scored was just garbage. So pissed. Not even good enough for latkes!
Avatar 11:43pm
Dave Mandl:

Huh. I blame global warming.
  11:50pm
JakeGould:

@DaveMandl: Maybe. Tried one or two locally (non-organic) and they were equally dry and starchy no matter how long I baked them. A decent potato is baked and delicious within like 1 hour at 275F. Feh. That was “Potato Gripe™”.
  11:57pm
mark Flynnn:

I'll look for the reissue.
