I knew Tom Jones did a great version of "Kiss" but never realized before how much he identified with Prince almost down to the afro! Squint and your gif is almost Sir Tom, Ken.
For those of you having streaming problems, can you let me know which stream you are having problems with and which player you're using? I'm able to get the stream on the Pop-Up player and the MP3 stream via VLC and iTunes a-ok, but maybe something wacky is going on somewhere down the line.
@liz - I have found in past that clicking "popup" on the playlist page will sometimes not load/play (NOT the case today, Mine is working fine from both URLs) - also I open from homepage mostly and today it's working fine for me. (Mac/Google Chrome)
There were problems with choppy streaming during Vocal Fry on Monday. Jeff investigated but it appeared to resolve itself while he was working on it. I'm listening via the app right now with no issues.
remember @Ken , deep breathes... get to your happy place. hold your anger management sleepaway camp lanyard and focus on the happy

My first thought when I heard the sad news about Prince was concern for Duane's mental health. I was similarly worried about Trent when Trish Keenan passed.
I know you suffer or suffered from anger management issues. But now it just occurred to me. This is going to sound bloody obvious...But have you ever tried music to relax? I mean, listening to the India Song makes me mellow. People play music to fit their mood. Apps give you music based on own's mood. Or perhaps anger and wrath only demand angry music. More fuel to the fire.
"Whats he building in there" reminds me of the movie Room. Some woman is abducted and she gives birth to a son while prisoner in a 10'x10' shed. Scary and sad.
i'm reading Jack Newfield's "somebody's gotta tell it" journalism memoir. he writes of seeing chicago mayor Richard Daley and Tom Hayden crying over RFK's body at st. pat's cathedral. then later the 2 would be on opposite sides at the democ convention. but this was sweet - Phil Ochs singing "crucifixion" acapella to RFK on a plane ride from wash, dc to nyc. a new song.

It is shame Vinyl is over. Last week Ken's recap was brilliantly retold. Can't wait for Vinyl's Recap Season 2.
I think the most positive aspect of this extremely dysfunctional 2016 election is people who don’t know anything about the electoral process are now seeing how it works and how it’s been corrupted. Sanders is the only legit candidate out there.
Also that is all I will say on the topic. Done with political talk. Sanders is the best candidate but won’t win at this point but has been putting on an amazing campaign.
@Dan-are you going to tell JakeGould to stop talking now?
@Jake-I think Bernie is actually a sincere guy although I do not agree with much of what he says. Agree with what he says about weed being legalized. Portugal did it with much success. Sanders cannot win I think...
On the subject of Prince tributes, Matt Warwick's Garbage Time program was almost all Prince, except for one song. The one song he plays every week at 5:00 AM.

I think what Ken was trying to say in relation with Talking Heads and the other bands he mentioned is that he hadn't listened to the band since late 70's. And then, years later, listened to them he realised they weren't as good as he recalled them.
“Agree with what he says about weed being legalized.” Okay, one more thing based on this… Supporting ANY candidate on their “weed” stance is one of the densest things anyone can say. Yes, if anyone just legalized weed this country would be in better shape… Right… Gotcha… It will be m=like magic solving the piles of crap in this country right now. But yea, more politics… Just stated that because of Ken’s on-air comments.
@Ken-Is politics officially not permitted on this board? By the way, I think more people should be called "a dick" when they are being a dick. Because it reminds me of Spicolli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

There is a chance for redemption. I got banned by Wm. Berger several weeks ago and then unbanned a couple weeks ago. I maintain I wasn't even being a dick, and Wm. sorta kinda acknowledged that maybe I wasn't.
@WildNeil: Last night on Irene’s playlist I declared my own personal ban on politics talk on the comments. Chill out… For someone shoot for legalized weed you’re a bit… Non-Fonzarelli!

Polyus:
I saw Fat White Family just last night, a little underwhelmed. Maybe I was expecting more chaos.
Wild Neil, you are really trying my patience. I banned one person for coming in to my chat room and being a dick to me. You on the other hand are just being clueless and tedious. Take a rest.

GGG:
No surprise there - I love Wm Berger and his show, but he gets unusually cranky at times with the comments, with a quick trigger finger...
o this is James Chance the player dindt update on me lol, sweet
11:32am
GGG:
Wild Neil likes to be as provocative in the comments as his imaginary anti-trump hysterical protestors are...

Dean:
Honestly, I took advantage of a plea he made on-air for more comments. I commented, fingers crossed, that I'd comment more often if I weren't banned. The meta-comment posted and he responded favorably to it.
i know little of James Chance, but i heard a PROVOCATIVE story - how he got punched out during a show because he was confronting an audience member. but the band just played on.

herb.nyc def sounds like somethin that would go down at a contortionists show lol, James used to have a rep kinda like uhhh, dude from Brian Jonestown Massacre, gettin rowdy on folks

Obamula420:
that whole NYC nowave era/scene definitely produced some ill stuff, the No New York compilation by Brian Eno has a lot of gems from then
I know it's a subtle difference, but stink can have a powerful impact on the subconscious. I just wanted to be sure I was conjuring the right mental image in conjunction with the song.

Obamula420:
this song makes me wonder...has anyone ever done like Led Zeppelin chopped and screwed? or like Thin Lizzy
Love the Zep variations! Great show SM Ken. Thanks for playing a CC7 Track!

djelrock:
Great Zep version. Never heard it before.

Meant turkey leg. But everything's better with keg. Speaking of food and beer and pilgrims, the record fair sounds like a worthwhile trip from MD saturday if i can drag my ass out of bed
Illegal directions? Like "make an illegal left turn at the red light, go through 4 stop signs, go the wrong way down a one way street and then park on the sidewalk."
If anything, the 7 second time limit will enable people to hear their entire call instead of just the tail end of it, since WFMU's delay is actually much greater than seven seconds!
Jimmy Hoffa. I am the only person in the world that saw him the day he disappeared in a puff of smoke. Because the very day he vanished I was born! I saw him on his way out of life!

Sam:
What day will Andy Breckman be at the record fair?
