Intrigued by this idea of how 'The Simpsons' exists in a Retro vision of America, in which Religion is still taken as a given. I think this probably reflects the show being based on traditional Television, in a way. @ the same time, I wonder if it isn't a convenient way of being a metaphor for what Religion means in society still...
