Glenn Spearman. What a beautiful player. All the records he didn't get to make. Stunning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am Jeff Golick:

Damon Smith, who plays bass on Ghetto Calypso, released the record on his Balance Point Acoustics label and has made it a "name your price" download given Eneidi's passing: balancepointacoustics.bandcamp.com...

The record also features Peter Kowald on bass; Ghetto Calypso is dedicated to his memory, as he had passed away between the date and the original release.

  10:53am Dean:

Is it true? Has young Marco Eneidi died? He was to have played a week ago Wednesday with Ben Goldberg and the Patrick Wolff Sextet when they opened for Brotzmann. Wolff announced that Eneidi would not be there due to a stomach flu.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am Doug Schulkind:

@Dean
Your comment is the first actual reference to a health issue regarding Eneidi. There has been a ton of chatter in social media of his death from those who would clearly know. But there has been absolutely no official confirmation. And I find it unnerving. It's almost like Eneidi is being anonymized in death the way he was (for too many) in life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Doug Schulkind:

@holland oats
No ear blisters, please.

@Andrew Waterloo

Quietly lurking right behind the Cubs, and their near historic start, are the Pirates. Humming smoothly.
  11:14am Dean:

Weird. The venue where Brotzmann played nine days ago, and where Eneidi was to have played with Wolff, is SF's The Chapel, which "occupies an historic 1914 building that was originally a mortuary."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am Doug Schulkind:

If I were a Cubs devotee, I would be nervous about being only 5 games up after such a tremendous start.

@Joe
There are so many musicians who I completely adore who I first learned of via their obituaries. (The great cajun musician Dewey Balfa is one who comes to mind.) I guess I kind of hope that an robust, glowing obituary for Marco Eneidi may introduce him to a wider circle. Oh well.
  11:22am Lore:

Sorry to be late to the discussion of Marco Eneidi, but bassist Damon Smith posted to Facebook that "Marco had been battling at least two terminal medical issues and had actually beat the odds to get this far. "Tonight at 8:45pm my father Marco Eneidi, passed away in ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton, CA. I love you and will miss you always dad.”

That’s the most that I know - we were out of contact for many years. Very sad.
