Listener comments!

Avatar 12:02pm Doctor Rembrandt:

Good morning!
Avatar 12:02pm Cecile:

Hola! I need to rock today.

Also, if you can play "Witches" or "Realms" by Beastwars, that would be amazing.
Avatar 12:03pm V Priceless:

  12:05pm Waterhead:

Being paid by the hour to be bored... dream come true.
Avatar 12:06pm Cecile:

excuse me?
Avatar 12:07pm Cecile:

go see skeletonwitch live. They are great.
Avatar 12:08pm Cheri Pi:

You're bored because you're boring, a wise person once said
Avatar 12:10pm Cheri Pi:

My monsters are moshing, that's pretty entertaining
  12:11pm Waterhead:

There is nothing boring about wearing a pink tutu in your workplace.
Avatar 12:12pm Doctor Rembrandt:

Procrastinating - such is working from home
Avatar 12:19pm Doctor Rembrandt:

love this song!
Avatar 12:20pm Cecile:

depends on who their best friend is.
  12:22pm Dean:

That isn't Fee Waybill, is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Rich in Washington:

another in a long list of songs which I originally thought were sung by a female.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Rich in Washington:

I wanna make an Anti-Sandinista Mix tape - using all the loose bits which people usually pare out of their mixes of Sandinista. I love that album. But the weird bits are really interesting when listened to out of context.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm chris:

Avatar 12:30pm Cecile:

I think I would like Sandinista so much better now.
  12:31pm coe:

Sandanista is my favorite Clash album. one day it will get its due. Probably once every one stop measuring it on the "punk o meter" and just acknowledges it as good music
Avatar 12:31pm Cecile:

I had never heard dub before Sandinista.
I only heard the hype about it. It took hearing Burning Spear, Singers and Players and others to get it.
Avatar 12:32pm Cecile:

To be fair, coe, London Calling wasn't that punk, but this was so far off the grid that it was perplexing. Also, I hadn't heard anywhere as much music as I have today.
Avatar 12:35pm Cecile:

I won't be around. :(
Have to listen to it on archives.
  12:35pm coe:

Cecile I totally agree about London Calling and the second half of Combat Rock is by no means "punk rock" It just just drives me crazy when people down Sandanista because they took chances like that is a bad thing.
Avatar 12:36pm Cecile:

King Fowley! The guy who inspired our prog rock masterwork.
Avatar 12:36pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 12:36pm Cheri Pi:

all hail KF!
Avatar 12:39pm V Priceless:

love their cover of "King Kong" from this, too....

Avatar 12:41pm Cecile:

this week I'm getting feedback whether I want it or not.
Avatar 12:42pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Absolutely had no idea about this band, but something back in the old destroyed brain suddenly said... jeezus, this must be the combo that did that 'gay bar' tune -- and sure 'nuff...
Avatar 12:43pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...which i haven't thought about in ages... perhaps the old brain still has a few miles on it before the warranty runs out.
Avatar 12:44pm Cecile:

Avatar 12:44pm Cheri Pi:

Fun band to see live, if you can deal with their obsessed crazy fans.
Avatar 12:45pm Cheri Pi:

Remember to change yer brain oil every 3,000 space miles.
Avatar 12:46pm Cecile:

that sounds like a great song title.
Avatar 12:46pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Speaking of brain-oil-vs-space-miles, still recovering from that Electric Moon track from this week's Garbage Time...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Stevel:

RTD: Agreed! That was tremendous. Still grooving.
  12:49pm Dean:

Right at the top of my "gotta buy" list: Electric Moon, thanks to that track having been played.
Avatar 12:50pm Cheri Pi:

Me three, as soon as I get my allowance.
Avatar 12:52pm V Priceless:

definitely making a b-line to catch up on the Electric Six front...the drummer's name is Percussion World, and their bio describes one of their tunes as reminiscent of "Radiohead sodomizing David Bowie in the center of his mind". My kinda band.
Avatar 12:52pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Digging. Hellworms are GO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Stevel:

Avatar 12:55pm Cecile:

That finger cymbal makes it.
Avatar 12:55pm Cheri Pi:

  12:55pm Dean:

Got my five dollar Amoeba coupon.

At this rate, all those bands reminiscent of "Radiohead sodomizing David Bowie in the center of his mind" should mount a festival, BRORSDBITCOHM.
Avatar 12:56pm Cecile:

I am going to translate their lyrics into english as I hear it. I just heard him sing "red pajamas, red pajamas"
Avatar 12:57pm Cecile:

Avatar 12:57pm Cheri Pi:

"and the undertaker was a guy" Like madonna like madonna
Avatar 12:58pm Cecile:

Oh! A Lovecraft reference!
You know Beastwars has a song called "Cthulu" right?
Avatar 1:00pm Chris from DC:

New to me, liking the Night Birds stuff.
Avatar 1:02pm Cheri Pi:

C$, have you seen the new video for Witches? youtu.be...
Avatar 1:04pm V Priceless:

Avatar 1:04pm Cecile:

YES. it is everything.

Avatar 1:08pm V Priceless:

Giuda is great...very Slade-like!
Avatar 1:11pm Cecile:

I see things as "gateway bands" now.
Avatar 1:15pm Cheri Pi:

You can never put too much effort into your thank you credits.
  1:18pm coe:

I keep hearing good things about Giuda but I'm only going to day 2 of Punk Rock Bowling.
Avatar 1:20pm Cheri Pi:

Cincinanti band alert
Avatar 1:38pm Cheri Pi:

When everyone is busy listening, no one is writing :)
Avatar 1:39pm Cecile:

I was busy working...
Avatar 1:44pm Cecile:

that last song should be a classic. good stuff.
Avatar 1:54pm Cecile:

Brian could do a great show on the stream...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm chris:

this is a ripper set!
  2:01pm curlee59:

Avatar 2:10pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 2:10pm Chris from DC:

Avatar 2:13pm Chris from DC:

Avatar 2:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 2:18pm Chris from DC:

Oh yeah, Mantar. Playing down here in September, great live band.
Avatar 2:18pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 2:18pm Luna:

Mantar should always follow Voivod, imo. :)
Avatar 2:19pm Cheri Pi:

Any band that starts a song with rrrrrruuuuuuuuuuufffffffffff is ok in my book.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm chris:

Luna and Cheri: salient points, both
Avatar 2:21pm Luna:

...and Mantar should immediately be followed by more Voivod. Etc., etc., etc.
Avatar 2:23pm Chris from DC:

Avatar 2:23pm Cheri Pi:

bands need to put some effort into their ululations, I'm hearing a lot of laziness lately but Mantar are a breath of fresh howling air.
  2:23pm GGG:

ChrisDC - is there a DC show? I see a Richmond show listed on their bandcamp.
Avatar 2:24pm Chris from DC:

GGG, Shadow Woods Fest (so technically Baltimore-ish), just announced. Didn't know about Richmond.
Avatar 2:25pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:25pm Luna:

Voitar, hahaha!
Avatar 2:26pm Cheri Pi:

C$, maybe we need to add ululation branding strategies into the suite of services we offer to our start-up bands.for an extra (and a few more hidden) fee of course
Avatar 2:28pm Diane Kamikaze:

Mantar are touring with Cobalt in Sept, wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Stevel:

"ululation branding strategies" makes me grin and giggle. Well done!
Avatar 2:28pm Luna:

I knowwwwwwww. I need to see that.
Avatar 2:30pm Chris from DC:

Bolt Thrower!
  2:32pm GGG:

thanks for the heads-up on Shadow Woods fest!
Avatar 2:34pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 2:45pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay for Voivod, even though I missed them.
Avatar 2:46pm Cheri Pi:

it's never too late for Voivod acknowledgement
Avatar 2:52pm V Priceless:

fun show, Diane (& Brian) - thanx!
Avatar 2:53pm Diane Kamikaze:
