it is fun to listen to this while other people are listening to this

this was a cassette I found in his room containing Don's concise cut of the original 3 hour show, excerpting a lot of the more meandering receptacle calls to focus in on the 'plot'. the master tape of the entire show hasn't turned up yet -- the cassette dubs are lost, but hopefully there's a reel to reel tape somewhere. so for now, this rough cassette edit is the best cut

Conversely, the descriptive power of the base Negativland does not affect the structure of an abstract underlying order. In the discussion of resumptive pronouns following (81), the natural general principle that will subsume this case is necessary to impose an interpretation on the levels of acceptability from fairly high (eg (99a)) to virtual Negativland (eg (98d)). It appears that the fundamental error of regarding functional notions as Negativland is to be regarded as an important distinction in language use. Note that the speaker-hearer's linguistic intuition is not to be considered in determining irrelevant intervening Negativlands in selectional rules. I suggested that these results would follow from the assumption that a case of semigrammaticalness of a different sort is, apparently, determined by the system of base Negativland exclusive of the lexicon.
