The Morphogenesis tape is the black-and-white one on the left; Diastolic Murmurs is on the right.

Hola, Senor Tony! Hello everybody!
Avatar 12:12pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Rich: Yes, today's show will feature sculpted din instead of tuneful toe-tappers.

Tony Coulter:

One of the members of Morphogenesis (Roger Sutherland) wrote one of the best books ever on experimental music: www.amazon.com...

Sadly, he is now deceased....

Hi. I am working from home today. I live in a condo, whose mgmnt co hires various contractors to do maint work, and guess what was on the back porch tight outside my back door... a leaf blower guy! I guess it is faster than sweeping, but at what cost.
Avatar 12:27pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, Alex!

Perhaps the sounds of the leaf blower will blend in nicely with this cassette....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
coelacanth:

i once recorded a leaf blower (walk behind kind) because it sounded unusual -like it was about to take off into the sky or something. somehow, the recording just sounds like a leaf blower.
it's weird because usually my recorder picks up more than what can hear, not less.

Forgot to ask: Anyone care to guess what LP lurks beneath today's cassettes? Guess correctly, and you will win a free trip to the moon. I will even give you a big hint: It is Hafler Trio–related.

@ Listener James: Better than a back-scratcher!

One of the very best things about DJ'ing on FMU: You can play Styx and Kiss one week and Morphogenesis the next and no one bats an eyelash.

Nobody ever plays Bats an Eyelash!
Avatar 1:22pm
Chris from DC:

Has there been any reissue of this?
Avatar 1:24pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
coelacanth:

Tony, this program was/is quite excellent. i wish it were to be archived, for i must depart. Thanks!
ciao.
Avatar 1:26pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Chris: Hasn't been reissued, no. Technically it's still in print, given that Sound of Pig keeps all its cassettes permanently available.
