i don't think i ever listen to music casually. maybe that's my problem...maybe that's why i don't like all those formulaic pop songs, smooth "jazz", and autotuned "reggae" songs . maybe i should seek help.

@coelacanth: that's why I found it kind of funny that they would specify on their website that the music isn't meant to be listened to casually. Seems to me that anyone who would come across that band doesn't really listen to music "casually."

it's funny they advise it!
...although - i gave a cd to someone once (because she asked for it). she was going on a first date that night and she'd play it in the car. i said "Don't!" "this is not driving music. it's not dancing music. it's not love-making music. it's not first date music!...it's listening music."
she played it in the car and her date insisted there was stuff rolling around in the trunk. to this day i'd bet she's never listened to it.

i forget who told a story about being at a party that Robert Johnson was at. there was a little radio off in the distance while Robert was talking and socializing - appearing to be paying no attention to the barely audible music. the next day he could play all the songs that played that night.
