Postwar atmospherica. High bop modernism and Afro-Latin sounds, twilight exotica and soundtrack moods, soul stompers and weepers, hypnotic R&B and blues, mystical '60s pop, lonely country, lonelier rock 'n' roll, instrumental weirdness, electronic creaking. Bringing worlds beyond into the worlds at hand.

These red shoes are SUH-WINGIN".
Avatar 10:12pm Little Danny:

Oh yes Geezerette. Drinking deep from the bop well this evening.
Avatar 10:13pm geezerette:

Thanks NGH!

Danny, cheers!
Avatar 10:24pm Little Danny:

I'd happily to a show's worth of late '40s / early '50s bop. This stuff does something to/for me. So much exuberance!
Avatar 10:27pm geezerette:

War's over! We can live again! I think that's part of it. Also Bennies for shift workers and Jazz players.

Avatar 10:28pm northguineahills:

Danny, I gotta run. I have quite a bunch of 45" and pre-1960 jazz. When my grandfather died, my grandmother gave me a bunch of his records. I was surprised to get a lot of jazz 78's, as I didn't know my grandparents liked jazz (they're from West Virginia), as my father had no interest. I also got the whole Environments series from my grandfather. Yes, I have a turntable that can play 78's. Have a good night!
Avatar 10:28pm Little Danny:

That is exactly right, Geezerette.
Avatar 10:39pm Little Danny:

Ciao, NGH - yer grandfather sounds like the original West Virginia hepcat.
Avatar 10:48pm Little Danny:

Such a massive swingin' groove on "Come On People."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm melinda:

Cool snake.
Avatar 11:07pm Little Danny:

Snake sounds are always a bonus in my book. Our cat wandered in during that song and jumped up on my DJ chair.
Avatar 11:16pm Little Danny:

Lo-fi magnificence
Avatar 11:48pm geezerette:

Swinging out the door smiling, you are a perfect host.
Cheers to freedom and fireworks!
Avatar 11:50pm Little Danny:

Thank you geezerette - I'll echo that sentiment!
  11:52pm melinda:

Enjoyed this last set.
Avatar 11:57pm Little Danny:
