"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. @Anon-do minor key songs (that I generally prefer) have a distinct waveform, or is it just shifted left or right, assuming all rhythm and volume is the same which is of course impossible just like this question is impossible?

@Neil, short answer: no. The only real difference between a major and minor key is the pattern of intervals between notes in the scale. Any given note wouldn't look much different than another except for frequency. But a spectral analysis might show some differences ... but now I wonder if you'd see a difference between a piece played in a major key vs one played in that major key's relative minor key.

@neil - chords are constructed from the scale they are in. major chords are basically 1-3-5.. meaning if the root note of the chord is a C.. the scale for C (I chose C because it has no sharps or flats) is C-D-E-F-G-A-B so a major chord is C-E-G.. to make it minor the intervals are 1-flat 3rd-5. so by making the third note in that scale flat you create a dissonance between the notes and you get a 'sad' sounding chord. jazzy chords throw in a 7th.. and it gets more complex from there.

Ah, well if you were comparing the waveform on a scope of say a C major chord and a C minor chord, you would see a difference, but it would probably be pretty subtle, not something you could pick up in a stream of music and identify it as major or minor based just on casually looking, especially if there is anything else going on.
