The music of Pearl Jam doesn't do much for me, but their lyrics (at least early on; not sure about now) were surprisingly feminist, or feminist-ish, and/or social justice-y. Lots of female narrators, homeless narrators, mentally ill kids, etc. Loved that all kinds of frat boys were into this band and singing along with *those* lyrics and probably had no idea.
