The Beginning Of The End sounds like Eric Burdon from The Animals channeling James Brown. This is cool! Where do you FIND this stuff Marty??

Tech advice tip of the morning: If you have computers running Windows 7, today is the last day to update them to Windows 10 for free. It'll cost $120 after today.
Avatar 9:11am
Wild Neil:

@Ken-I keep trying to use Powerpoint 2013, but at random times it says something happened and I cannot save. So I must frantically save every ten minutes until that happens. It sucks. I try deleting files from the C>Windows> Temp files but that only works sometimes...

Morning all. Damn gangsta cover.

@Marty-can you play something from King Crimson Earthbound? I swear that one of the songs is FUNKY....I heard it kinda pissed of Robert Fripp because he didn't know what to do or how to solo with it....
I think the song is Peoria...

I wish more synth jockeys would dump their drum machines and use real drummers like on this Zombi track.

@Brian-the real drums are an awesome feature of Zombi, thanks for pointing that out....
Barn Owl is spooky good.

Rev. Turnip Druid:

Maybe it has to do with hauling 12x more gear than everyone else. But the eating thing is.......
  9:40am
brian from ma:

Rev. Turnip...yes I have been on tour with drummers. Some of them are almost human, you know. The floor of my car is still stained with coffee, beer and peanut butter from one guy I worked with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am
Polyus:

I kinda thought the drummer was overplaying on that Zombi track. Agree that it is cool to use live drums for that type of music though.
Avatar 9:42am
Wild Neil:

@Brian-the real drums are an awesome feature of Zombi, thanks for pointing that out....I don't think he was overplaying...I thought he balanced things out nicely like the drums in Joy Division....
Barn Owl is spooky good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am
common:

i'm with you rev. disgusting.
Avatar 9:43am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'll say it is a definite technical challenge though, to combine synth sequencers/arpeggios with a live drummer. The monitor situation has to be perfect, and those conditions never occur live. So.... much respect to Zombi.
Avatar 9:43am
Wild Neil:

I used to share a house with a drummer and other Dead cover band musicians...he could also play acoustic guitar and was into making his own underground comics...David Maxwell from the Mexican Mud band....
Avatar 9:43am
Chris from DC:

They have always been spot on when I've seen them. Fantastic opening slot for Goblin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am
Marcel M:

@Rev: If you are in a band that uses full stacks, the drummer does NOT carry the most stuff ;-)
Avatar 9:46am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

MIDI triggers on the drums to clock the sequencers maybe? ... eh.. sounds expensive..

That would be my guess, Rev.

Avatar 10:39am

@Cecile-repulsive? Was he into underage girls or something?
Avatar 10:40am

No, he fed his bandmates acid without them knowing and is a horrible racist and sexist person. Roky Erickson has spent years in and out of mental hospitals dealing with the aftermath of LSD.
