Hi Liz and peoples!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Pete L: Why not? Africa is our Mother - the womb, the heart - it's even shaped like it. As Keef Richards says - the music there just relates to how people actually walk & schtoop...Given the probable death of American exceptionalism, it may well be so.

HUGE YAY for Salami Jr. we grew up together in the same 2 square mile suburban NJ town, were on the same baseball team in middle school, are still friends. his band from the early 2000s "Robocop: The Movie" is one day going to be a massive FMU phenomenon on the level of Sandwich Time.

Yes, I'd love to get that bird on stage. His long mustache would win the ladies. Get some howler monkeys up there too. They are jet black but their testicles are white. They look like chicken eggs. They have a great sound too.

@Liz Amvets was a chain of thrift stores benefiting war veterans that was a popular place for the young, artsy and broke to shop in Chicago in the 80s. Most of the stores still exist but they were bought years ago by a for-profit entity and are now "Village Discount"

Also she mentions Neo and Park West - Neo was a new wave dance club that was open up until a couple of years ago. Park West was a posher live music place, where I saw Culture Club and a very, very young U2. It still exists but books boring music now.
