Pssh. I thought it said "Love Vibration" I am relieved. Hi, Jess. Hey, James, Geez.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
listener james from westwood:

I'm specifically editing a bibliography, so calm ambient waves are the very thing.

(But I'm of course happy to go wherever the show goes! This is always a great program for my line of work, uptempo or down.)

I'm good! Low vibes totally working for me. :)

Hi Parq! Slow and low tonight but you can take the vibrations in that direction if you want

Hi Parq!

Ambient Otaku is a very funny name. Maybe Comicon should be re branded.
Avatar 6:18pm

I love 90s ambient!
Avatar 6:18pm
Jesse K:

That would be their chill out room?
Avatar 6:18pm

Ah, I recognize that label, it's David Moufang's. I'd been a fan of Deep Space Network back in the day.
Avatar 6:18pm
geezerette:

haha! :D

Dean:

Last night my son asked me to put on some soothing music. I chose Montserrat Figueras's Ninna Nanna, which did the trick. But if I owned the Tetsu Inoue record, I'd have played that instead.
Avatar 6:22pm
the glowing one:

the whole 90s ambient scene was really something, the perfect soundtrack for the pre-millennium
Avatar 6:23pm
Jesse K:

Hey northguineahills! the glowing one! Dean! @Dean, get your son back in here!

Howdy Rich! Electro Harmonix is doing all the lifting here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm

Not to take this too far onto a side point, but Dean reminds me, I've always dug the fact that Raymond Scott wrote electronic music for babies.
Avatar 6:43pm

Its peaceful out here making small repairs on the space station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm

Geez, be careful. Remember "Gravity".

I know it's always a good sign when I've left the playlist for long enough that it stops being 'live'

Never heard of BFC before, apparently it was a Carl Craig project?
Avatar 8:42pm
Jesse K:

Yeah that came out on a split with a project called Psyche, which was also Carl Craig
Avatar 8:55pm
northguineahills:

I remember picking up Spacetime Continuum's "Sea Biscuit" b/c it was on Atralwerks, as was the Chemical Brothers, and I just got into Eno's ambient works that month, and after that, I just started buying as many ambient records as possible.
Avatar 9:07pm
northguineahills:

This Monolake was the 2nd to last album I listened to before leaving Brookln 3 weeks ago..
Avatar 9:09pm
Jesse K:

It's a great album for liminal space. What was the last one?
Avatar 9:15pm
northguineahills:

I believe it was Fairport Convention "Liege and Leif".
Avatar 9:16pm

Driving at 3am down small rural roads from Jacksonville to Gainesville made this a fun driving soundtrack the summer after my freshmen year in college.
Avatar 9:19pm
Jesse K:

This show is kind of based on a driving experience I had this summer of driving into Amarillo after a really long day of driving. We were both super worn out and looking for a koa that we had reservations for and feeling kind of low but then we found hearts of space on the radio
Avatar 9:46pm

Can't wait until I can set up my turntables. Just have small speakers hooked up to my laptop for the time being.
Avatar 9:49pm
Jesse K:

I think most music now is mastered for laptop speakers
Avatar 9:52pm
northguineahills:

I just have mini 6" speakers, can't stand laptop speakers. I have my 15"s in the garage.
Avatar 9:52pm
geezerette:

Thanks Jesse, great music! Always dig the art too, not least your own!

Hi Jesse, what a beautiful set! could you ID the one you play on 01:03:00 onwards? I find it difficult to identificate it with the tracklist. Thanks a lot in advanced
Avatar 10:58am
Jesse K:

Hey Pau, thanks! The first hour is just those two songs by Ambiant Otaku and Electro Harmonix so the second hour starts off with the Atom Heart track. Hope that helps!
