A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I've just recently started appreciating this era of Miles. I resisted it for many years, and now I just can't get enough of it. This is why I pledge to WFMU--you're the ones who turned me on to this in the first place!

Annie I know, first Scott and now Trouble. Truthfully, though, I find it hard to get through a show without playing at least one Miles track myself.

I thought the Miles movie was very good, too. Reviews were mixed, I know it wasn't factual, but it seems one of those cases where the truth is more important than the facts, and that film felt very truthful.

I'll remind my fellow listeners that there is no other station in the world that's going to play Miles Davis, the Allah-Las and Ravi Shankar on the same show, and that's what we support during the silent fundraiser. Shhhhh.

No need to speak out against him, he's doing a fine job of shooting himself in the foot. What really counts are the down-ballot elections. There's no point in having a progressive president and an obstructionist congress again. Although it's slightly better than a president who would sign all their lunatic bills into law.

WFMU is a prime example of things we got right in this century--no government, no corporations, just a bunch of kooks doing what we want, paying our own bills, without outside interference. Pledge, you commie freaks.
