	2:55pm Lyle: James Blackshaw. Interesting. I first met him when I was stuck in traffic, waiting for a fishing trawler to pass underneath a bridge in Dunedin, FL. I was standing beside my vehicle on the road, smoking a Tareyton, when I looked down over the protective railings to see a sunburned, cherubic fellow waving to me from his blanket on the cool dirt of the waterway bank. I motioned for him to come up and we spoke for a while. Turns out he was a drawbridge oiler who spent most of his lonesome working hours practicing his trombone under the bridge as he oiled and lubricated the span's rusting joints and fittings. Somewhere along the line he got a lucky break, probably when he met Stan Kenton who was also stading beside his car smoking a "jazz cigarette."
