Thanks for another amazing set for me to drive home to, Jesse. Always such a treat :)
  12:50am

Busy is good! I've been a little slow, which is good for me since I've been kind of a workaholic for the past 15 years or so. No Halloween plans yet. That's funny you had remembered about the costume contest!

I can't hear that song without thinking of Sunkist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am
coelacanth:

never had a sunkist soda, but now i really want one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am
jj.:

my enduring memory of the 1986 beach boys show i saw was a giant inflatable sunkist bottle in the parking lot outside the venue.
Avatar 1:13am
Matt from Springfield:

But be warned, Sunkist is super sugared, dyed and caffeinated! Don't take if you plan to sleep anytime soon! ;)

Which, I can't as I need to sleep soon. But thanks for this especially wonderful start to the show!
Avatar 1:14am
Matt from Springfield:

@jj: Mountain Dew is too corrosive, too metal. Sunkist is the Beach Boys choice for getting buzzed!
  1:17am
MONEYBAG$:

jj was that the best part of the show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am
jj.:

unfortunately, i remember almost nothing about the show itself. i was pretty young.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am
coelacanth:

hmm. i hadn't even considered the possibility of actually getting one. now i remember that i live next door to a convenience store.
  1:20am
rw:

coelacanth, Don't do it! It's a slippery slope.

they're the teenage symphony to god of soda pops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am
coelacanth:

damn, i'm SO thirsty...
  1:24am

Okay, go for it. I guess just one wouldn't hurt.

MONEYBAG$:

I'm doing pretty good with this 20 year streak of no orange soda
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29am
coelacanth:

it's been much more than 20 years for me. (& i loved it as a child) - but a few weeks ago, when it was hot out, i went to a "mexican" place and had pineapple soda because i had been craving pineapple. it was downright disgusting, it was so sweet.
  1:30am
dano59:

Also on a 20-yr-plus no orange soda kick. Ever since my diabetes diagnosis . I do recall that Fawn

Hey cc, one of those Jarritos?
  1:34am
dano59:

.., and Nehi were OK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38am
coelacanth:

olá Jandro! yes that was it. the guy innocently said "it's all natural! no corn syrup! i was psyched; but when he brought it out & i saw it was dayglo yellow i knew it wasn't too all natural!
- and it did nothing for my thirst or my pineapple craving.
Avatar 1:39am
Alejandroool:

ooh ya it's all cane sugar, those things are intense! not much natural pineapple flavor going on either...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42am
coelacanth:

intense indeed. maybe it would be good diluted with seltzer... but i only drank 1/2 of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am
jj.:

with an admitted sweet tooth, i sometimes get a craving for the pineapple jarritos, but it's a rare treat these days. even more intense is inca cola, available around NYC at fine peruvian rotisserie chicken establishments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48am
coelacanth:

i'm missing something. boylan (brand) is another one. they spend the extra for cane sugar then add artificial color. how stupid!
boylan makes a "red birch beer" that is delicious, but it's artificially vivid red. Why?? if would be sparkling clear if not for red dye; is that not appealing? (it would be to me.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50am
coelacanth:

i never had inca cola; but i used to love cherry china cola, which is naturally colored. it's impossible to find now though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57am
Fuzzy:

Prefiero Coca Cola Mexicana: 1 Litro en el envase de vidrio retornable -- y hecho con puro azucar! Si -- disfrutelo!
