Alternate tunings always sound sour to me. This one sounds like Thai papaya salad.

Checking in to give thanks for the Analog-message shoutouts last week! Now, instead of saying "Please, I have friends who have been quoted in The New York Times" I get to go "I've been quoted on A440/WFMU!!" Viva Stochastic Appositionalism!!!

Not that there's anything wrong with A440, but are we going to get any Stochastic Hit Parade? If not, why is it listed as both on the schedule? Just curious. Great to have you back on the air in either case.

I played trumpet (poorly) in junior high school. Switched to tuba in high school, and played pretty well. Now, I just shred a Gibson Les Paul. :-)

Played cornet fifth grade through senior high. I might try my hand at the recorder that my daughter outgrew (mostly to impress PLU Vicki).

...but...at some point, I really want to learn piano. Or cello. Both.

Ken From Hyde Park:

Our HS band was invited to march in homecoming parades for a couple of nearby colleges. I remember it being really cold and trying to march and play was a struggle, especially as a freshman. It became easier by senior year.

egould310:

Much love to those french horns. Brass section, yeah!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

The French horn has such a tiny mouthpiece, right? A challenge to play, I'm sure.
