Sat. Nov 23rd, Midnight - 3am:
Midnight Matinee Presents: Planet of the Monkees
(More info...)
Imagining an alternate version of the 1960s where, instead of being ruled by giant insectoid Beatles, the world was under the spell of four mop-topped simians. Featuring hits like Hey Hey Doctor Zaius, The Left Brain of Landon, and Another Pleasant Spaceship Journey, along with lesser-known gems like Your Grizzled Antihero and It Won’t Be The Same With Monkees. So get your filthy paws over to WFMU at midnight on November 23 (known to some as the Friday overnight) for: Planet of the Monkees. Hosted by John Schnall.
Ethan Murrow is currently exhibiting at Winston Wachter, 530 W. 25th St., through Oct. 29. The art you see at the website is very large graphite on paper and is very detailed and beautiful.
two weeks from now it's dj husband vs. dj wife viii, three hours of 7 inch records during singles going steady week. one hour of dj husband, one hour of dj wife, one hour of pure connubial bliss.
Thanks for the heads up, Rich. I've heard a few of your husband v wife shows and they're always a hoot. Good show tonight, too. I wish I had the extra scratch for the FMA fundraiser.
i love that you can go to the fma and download albums from big blood and natural snow buildings while discovering things like herve perez & antdre darius and fanny kaplan
