Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Post Halloween and sans-Amanda we thought we'd scare things into place with some Elliott Sharp Carbon tracks today.

Nice.

weinstein:

Ostrowski, who we've featured before, is well known under that moniker to longtime FMU listeners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm
weinstein:

Hey doctorjazz are you an Elliott Sharp fan or Ostrowski or both?
  2:18pm
thebard:

This is expanding my mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm
weinstein:

Mind expansion is in our mission statement.

Insert Silent Fundraiser reading assignment here.

Gail Vachon:

I've been wondering if there's something inherent in the name David that causes one to become a musician.

thebard:

I'm spreadsheeting. But I have one speaker in the living room, and the other one in the hallway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
weinstein:

Yes, that we are always up against a Goliath.

Have seen shows by and gotten Elliot Sharp albums, not knowledgeable about Ostrowski...

Good afternoon David and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
weinstein:

Fred! Greetings! Just in time for the really raging last 30 minutes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
fred:

I saw a really great set by Lea Bertucci last week. I guess you have seen her, she seems to be part of the scene you're featuring on this show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
weinstein:

Yes Bertucci is one of the "connectors" on the scene, writes for and plays in different groups, and has been featured here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
fred:

Fitting then that she'd headline a show organized by one of the prime movers of the experimental/noise scene in Paris
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
fred:

David Linton is another talented David who makes interesting videos, unless I'm mistaken
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
weinstein:

Linton generates video images in performances as part of his rig which includes sound and objects and circuits and lights and instruments and mystery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
weinstein:

As we near the conclusion here, one last thank you to those who have pitched in to the fund. They are sounding the alarm from FMU headquarters so hurray for you all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm
fred:

That was indeed a delightfully raging set, and these musicians are new to me. Thanks a lot
