I have to be honest with you. When I was a kid this "up in my beautiful balloon" song represented to me everything that rock 'n' roll wasn't. Everything from the drum "beat", to the melody, to the tuxedoed dude singing the song...everything. I wanted to kill that guy in many ugly ways. And the songwriters. And the studio hacks playing the instrumental backing. I wanted to rock. This song didn't. Do I hold a grudge? You bet I do. Fuck You. And fuck your big balloon. Thanks Dave. I feel better. But don't play this fucking song again. Please.

PS- The memorial service will be held for Herb Hardesty at the D.W. Rhodes Chapel in New Orleans on Saturday, December 10.

Viewing will start at 10am, and a funeral service will follow at 11am.

He will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
