Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

So this is not the Skid Row hair metal band from the 80s/90s?
  10:11pm johnk77:

  10:11pm johnk77:

Avatar 10:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...to think - the critics hated Sabbath...
  10:31pm Marc15:

Gee thanks. Guess I'm a jerk then
  10:32pm rw:

Did Therese just call my mom a jerk?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm Scraps:

i think the old skid row was irish
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm @sugarwolf@:

But where they singing the Wham version or one of the many covers?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Scraps:

with Phil Lynott? That Skid Row?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Scraps - Yes, Gary Moore and Phil Lynott were in that band. I looked it up earlier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Therese:

@sugarwolf- Whatever they thought it was, it was Wham to me...
  10:42pm rw:

I heard the singer from Skid Row on NPR this morning. Weird interview. He was plugging his book. I'm not so sure about NPR anymore. Not that I was ever totally sure, it just seems to be in a downward out-of-control spiral.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Scraps:

wait, phil lynott is dead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm Scraps:

the NJ Skid Row? Sebastian Bach?
  10:46pm rw:

Sebastian Bach.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm Scraps:

  10:47pm rw:

Is there more than one Skid Row? They're not a band I really know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm Scraps:

the one therese played
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm Scraps:

1960s, before Thin Lizzy
  10:48pm rw:

Oh... Sorry. Never mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Scraps:

She talked about the NJ Skid Row. :-)
  10:54pm Marc15:

The Armory was better because it is easier to get to than Expo Center
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm Scraps:

The Nachumless-Marathon-Record-Fair
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm Scraps:

(oops, i wasn't describing the current record fair, i was echoing therese describing one of the old record fair.)
Avatar 11:00pm BadGuyZero:

Hiya. I know I'm tardy. I don't feel tardy. Nonetheless, I look forward to listening to the first hour via the archives later in the week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Have a nice pre-Christmas Christmas, Therese. Sounds like you'll be in the chair Christmas night in two weeks. Are you planning to play Christmas music on that show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Tome:

YeaH Helllloooo ,, !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Therese:

@Ken FHP: I am thinking about it, yes!
  11:09pm Bryan Richard:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Scraps:

That's why it wasn't released
Avatar 11:17pm BadGuyZero:

I'm guessing this isn't the ABC who did "The Look Of Love."
  11:19pm P-90:

Very nice picks tonight, DJ Therese. As always.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Webhamster Henry:

My kids like Dirk Gently .. they don't really like Doug Adams, so that was good! It seems a little forced, in places though.
  11:36pm KP:

Bon soir, Therese!
  11:37pm phat:

hot damn, Green Manalishi!
Avatar 11:38pm BadGuyZero:

Melvins do a great version of "Green Manalishi."
  11:39pm phat:

Judas Priest do a great version as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40pm Tome:

Greg .. :(
  11:41pm rw:

Wow. I don't remember that Fleetwood Mac song sounding that way. Was it an alternate version?
  11:41pm KP:

I saw Green sub for Spencer with FM. They basically did Station Man for 45 minutes and that was fine with me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Nice ELP selection. 2016 claimed both Keith E. and Greg L. Ugh!
  11:43pm KP:

It did sound different rw. The listed album is not the usual source
  11:44pm rw:

KP, that's what I thought. I like BOTH versions!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Philthy woman:

Love this song in so many versions- never heard Yoko's before- LOVE it- thank you Therese. She is a brave sassy visionary that Yoko
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Philthy woman:

i love the Gallaxy 500 version- much
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Philthy woman:

between your god and mine
Avatar 11:58pm BadGuyZero:

I looked up track info for "I'm A Freak Baby" and it says that "Green Manalishi" was taken from a 7-inch single. I didn't see anything indicating if the mix was different from an album version.

I noticed that there's a band on that compilation called The Iron Maiden that is not the NWOBHM band. There's also a band called Velvett Fogg that has nothing to do with Mel Torme. But Tony Iommi was a member prior to his forming Black Sabbath.
  11:59pm P-90:

Thanks, Therese! Hope to join you on X-mas, when the excitement's over and my little nephews are in bed...
