Good morning Micah

Sem Chumbo:

Good morning, Micah. Hello, fred, hope you are on the mend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am

@Sem: Not there yet, but getting better every day. No small feat at my age, I should count my blessings (that's easy and quick enough to do anyway)
Avatar 6:20am

strapped in and ready to go! good morning fellow brainiacs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20am
Sem Chumbo:

Sensible reasoning @fred, happy to hear a positive outlook :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am

So, what's going to happen to this show next year? Sorry if I asked this before, memory isn't included in my improvement list
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28am
Sem Chumbo:

Hello, annie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30am

@Sem: Also, I saw a show by Akram Khan that I really liked. That hadn't happened in 5+ years, so that's a good way to close the year (not missing it was a factor in my leaving the hospital early, it's good though rare to have my optimism rewarded)
Avatar 6:30am

hi sem. hi fred. fred, i think he's staying on but in the stream. i jave yhe saem trouble remembering since it's not happened, yet; it's like getting used to other shows' times when the schedule changes. i STILL forget trouble's show on thursdays....cases of CRS are common.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am

Thanks annie
Cooh John:

Good morning micah, fred, annie, Sem. C-cold here.
Avatar 6:38am

mornin' cooh! we are 18 here! wow,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40am
Sem Chumbo:

Likewise here @ CJ; -30C w/ wind-chill, a 40 knot gale blowing, a continuous roar.
Avatar 6:41am

when i see that i think of ursula leguin planets, all ice and cold, with sparkly sun.
Cooh John:

I am between Sem and annie. No wind though.
Avatar 6:52am

we won't even need to talk about weather no more if the Arctic Report released this week is any guide... www.livescience.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52am

The mind-control segment should take us all to warmer places. Unless Micah has a change-up in store with Scandinavian winter cults

There is a reason this is one of my favorite shows on FMU and that segue just summed it up...!
Avatar 6:58am
Pete DJ TM5:

The guitar work on this BD track has a Joni Mitchell element.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00am

@ausmanx: In the meantime, what's the weather like in your area? I heard about some serious heat in some parts of Australia, I hope it's bearable
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Uh oh....commence the mind freak!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am
Sem Chumbo:

@ausmanx: thanks for the read, know people who live in Nunavut Territory and they confirm the chaos occurring as things warm up to an unprecedented degree and with bewildering rapidity. Even here on the Bay of Fundy, where tides range up to 50 feet+, waterfront property is eroding with higher-than-ever tides. I see this every day, living where I do, directly on the shores of an estuary which is part of the Bay of Fundy system.
Avatar 7:10am

ah yes, i remember you are in exotic climes, sem! it just strikes me that every year the scientists announce that the previous 12 months has been worse than they imagined. and every year we do nothing about it. it's been hot here in sydney this week fred,(hottest night on record on tuesday) but down to a frigid 20 degrees today! but i was up in Marble Bar last month (hottest place on the planet!) so it's all relative!
Avatar 7:10am
Howard F:

good morning micah & listeners.

Howard F:

This track is pretty awesome. On Discogs it lists the style as "Therapy".

Digging this.

Been a while since i tuned in to wfmu. thanks for always being here
Avatar 7:37am

st finished reading that article, aus, ... good thing i have a sweet barcalounger and the remote. take my mind off reality. personally, i think the planet could use a giant squeegee, get rid of this mess and start over.
Avatar 7:38am

and, no micah, i haven't forgotten that music i promised you.
Avatar 7:41am

isn't donald gonna clean out the swamp, or something, annie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am

Digging this Mike Tamburo
Avatar 7:45am
Howard F:

This guy has definitely listened to Eno & Fripp.
Avatar 7:56am

the swamp he's cleaning out is mostly in his mind, aus. in 6 months, the dust will have settled, then we will see. i hated what bush did.. and there's literally no knowing which of these yahoos congress will actually approve.
Avatar 8:04am

well, another pot of coffee is in order, and i going to put breakfast on the stove.
Avatar 8:22am

fist time visitor to this show (this very momen)t. loving music for muted and stag hare!
Avatar 8:24am

Avatar 8:25am

welcome greenlight!!
Avatar 8:38am

oh, i watched "The Andromeda Strain" last night...what a mind-blower (speaking of primordial sounds)

Big fan of Minami Deutsch. Nice to hear here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
Sem Chumbo:

Thanks, Micah, see you next time.
Avatar 8:56am

some early 90s thing?

They are clearly kraut rock inspired but I don't know specific bands well enough to detect anything more specific
Avatar 8:57am

yes, micah, another great morning of tunes..
