morning all. loved the db's. - feeling you on the 'no problem'. - i have a little issue with, 'have a good one'. always sounds a little... suggestive. but i too had a good customer service experience recently with an american indoor antenna company. really helpful troubleshooting and at the end they sent me a replacement amplifier free of charge. - and i too was fortunate to be able to write a review in my own words instead of enduring the indignity of 'the multiple choice'. more options do not mean more choices. - mornign all!~

I think "you're welcome" has become considered too formal, and "no problem" has become the more casual equivalent response. At least for me. I know that when I worked in service, I used "you're welcome" but tend to use "no problem" in more familiar settings.

"no worries" bothers me a little, not that i am against jamaican'isms - but, it wreaks a bit of modern hippy. "have a good one" i don't have a problem/worry with, as it comes from the south - a friendlier place. it seems what we are discussing is how all these phrases are used in the northeast??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am
melinda:

I felt self-conscious even saying 'you're welcome' to customers after I read someone online complaining about service people who don't say 'thank you' first. Geez. For me I think tone and demeanor matter the most. When store clerks don't make eye contact or can't crack a even a small smile that feels wrong.

This Tony Joe White song is reminiscent of "Move Over" by Janis Joplin. Or maybe it's the other way around?

The modern economic world has made real estate and construction the main economic engines of economies big and small. So communities are basically destroying themselves to create “jobs” but destroy what little spirit/uniqueness they might have had.
