However - having the Impressionist works @ the Musée d'Orsay in fornt of me was entirely different from seeing them in books. These were *Painters*. That changed my perspective significantly.

@Rev Rabbit, I had a similar experience with some Monet paintings. Having seen them so many times in calendars and post cards I assumed I didn't need to see them in person but they're completely different in person
