Afternoon, Rex & Fools!
  1:08pm andrew b:

why's the guy strangling Marjorie so familiar?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Parq:

Andrew, isn't that Joe E. Brown?

Greetings from snowed in Delmarva peninsula!
  1:17pm pottybear:

Tremendous!! Big Guitar!!
  1:20pm andrew b:

Thanks Parq, "some like it hot" funniest final seconds of any movie in history in my worthless opinion.
  1:26pm Car Crash Cad:

The photo is indeed Joe E. Brown as Ossie Simpson with his paws around the neck of Marjorie White as Penny Packer in the 1931 film Broadminded .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Parq:

Andrew, not that I think my opin is worth anything, but I agree heartily. The look on Lemmon's face at the fade out!
Avatar 1:28pm Mailman Tom:

Nowadays, all the TV commercials are either for cars or big pharma.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Greg from ZONE 5:

AH! Anybody get much Twilight Zone in last weekend? I managed 20 or 30 hours or so…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Parq:

Cad and fellow listeners, if this description from IMDB doesn't make you want to see Broadminded, I honestly don't know what you're doing listening to this show:
Jack's father is sending Jack away to keep him from the gambling, booze, girls and late nights. He has Ossie go as Jack's companion, not knowing that Ossie [J. Brown] does the same things as Jack. They decide to go to California and the trip is long as Jack stops for every girl he sees. In a restaurant in the southwest, they meet Poncho. It seems that every time Ossie sees Pancho, he does something that almost gets him into a fight. When they get to Pasadena, the boys meet Connie and Penny [M. White] and Aunt Polly. After a few days, Jack proposes and Connie accepts. However, that is that day that Mabel, Jacks jilted fiancée from New York, shows up.
  1:35pm Car Crash Cad:

@mailman tom...or foot-in-grave stuff like reverse home loans, diapers and/or life alert. Maybe it is just the stations I watch, but I feel like I am already dead when I sit through an episode of Car 54 or 77 Sunset with these awful sponsors!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Greg from ZONE 5:

A güiro!
  1:40pm Car Crash Cad:

@parq I have seen a weird scope version on the Movies! tv station late one night . It played with Human Desire at 0 dark thirty.
Avatar 1:41pm Mailman Tom:

Happy New Year Fools!
  2:25pm frenchee:

in this photo Joe E. Brown looks like the Coney Island fella. It's that marionette mouth!
  2:40pm ChrisB.:

Sorry. This never gets old.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Go go, No Brow!
  2:49pm Pepperoni:

Thanks for the shout, Rex
Avatar 2:50pm Sem Chumbo:

Like me some Bongo Fury mid-afternoon! Thanks, Rex.
  2:51pm an ounce of Absinthe???:

And you thought no one was watching???? That's insane. No balance. Give me a wash of absinthe or a puff of it but an entire ounce? We are looking at an absinthe frappe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm ChrisB.:

I wonder if Bashful Bobby Wooten is the same Bob Wooten who played with Johnny Cash for many years?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Dominick:

Another fine mess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm ChrisB.:

Doesn't seem so.
