Polyus:

Greybeards, that is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am
Devin B.:

Poly: I think the last time was '96 for me. At the Capital Theater Backstage in Oly, if I remember. Plenty of greybeards last night for sure, but also an encouraging number of younger folks.

PKNY:

Wrote about it on a previous MM show post, found it via the Googles:

"I saw them at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, which is about a 600 person capacity club. They had a wall of Marshalls about 15 ft high, like at least 4x4 cabinets on each side. In a club. *Opening* for Overkill. With both bands' backline set up, they had about 3 feet of space between their amps and the edge of the stage to walk around.

Face-melting stage raps to boot. Their guitar player had one of those leg immobilizer braces strapped on while still rocking their Viking gear, and Joey DeMaio said he hurt leg after he fell out of the tour bunk while banging some chick. Then some dude start heckling Joey, so he pointed him out in the crowd and said "You! I'm gonna be f**king your girlfriend tonight!" Spinal Tap have nothing on these dudes, straight up."
Avatar 9:55am

Can you play that again?

forgive my ignorance and can someone tell me the name/artist of that track that Marty just (and often) uses for his set break? (I loved how it gave a strong beep at one point when he was giving his brilliant "no metal no fantasy" talk.)
  10:03am
Polyus:

I am probably in the minority of people who don't really dig the whole artists playing their old albums trend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am

@steveo Black Superman by Above the Law. Great tune.
Avatar 10:10am
Bronwyn Bishop:

yay! one of the best walker brothers tunes :D
Avatar 10:12am
PKNY:

@Polyus - kinda agree in some ways, it seems like an easy way to cash in when on tour. But to be honest, the first time I remember someone doing this what when Slayer did "Reign in Blood" in the early 2000s, and I couldn't have been happier.

Polyus:

@PKNY - a lot of times I think of certain records as really specific to a time and place. The artist are different people now and so am I for that matter. For instance, Patti Smith and 'Horses'. It feels kinda human jukebox-y to me, and I wouldn't expect that from her.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am

@Marty no football in LA for 20 years and now maybe 3 teams if the Raiders come?
Avatar 11:33am
Marty McSorley:

pro football never left LA. USC and UCLA were always there. The NFL was just MIA for a few years. Never been to an NFL game. grew up a Trojan fan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am
pantz:

@Marty Considering the teams LA is inheriting, USC is a better choice for quality football.
  11:37am
Brendan:

Exactly what my brother living there says that a pro team would be the 3rd most popular team in town .
