Avatar 6:58am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Congrats Cooh John!
  7:00am Mike Flynn:

does anyone know if there's a way we can vote to keep Todd in this time slot permanently??!!!
  7:00am mortstiff:

The shouty voice isn't my favorite, but two great shows. Todd has my vote, the Dan guy's shows were also really good. The worst was that Pigeon guy, whose music acumen seems below par. So there's my vote, in case you were wondering. Keep the mustard on the menu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am Vincent Nifigance:

@mortstiff Take that back about Clay Pigeon. He is the love of my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am doctorjazz:

OK, strapping in for the ride to work, Pow Pow Pow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am People Like Us:

Just a reminder that this is a snark-free, troll free zone, while people are trying out for the Morning Show spot. It should be anyway, but even moreso here, so respect by measuring your words.
Avatar 7:06am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks @People Like Us. I am the only one allowed to say bad things about people here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am People Like Us:

absolutely, Todd!
  7:07am Mike Flynn:

Maybe we should all just pepper the station with phone calls and emails? No web page we can cast our votes??
  7:07am Cliff in Prague:

You can email Station Manager Ken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am People Like Us:

you know how to contact Ken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am People Like Us:

remember this is not Eurovision though, however much it may seem like it is sometimes!
Avatar 7:10am Sem Chumbo:

Jackpot! The Staples covering the BAND. Wonderful x 100.
  7:11am Cliff in Prague:

Yeah, if it was Eurovision we'd get to see some fa-aaa-aabulous outfits!

Great Heart of Gold, set Rockin! (man, don't think I've heard Betty LaVette as much in the last 20 years or so as in the last year).
  7:54am Steve Roach:

Uh ... yeah ... seems like I should have something to say here, but I dunno really.
  7:56am Hoboken Jack:

In fairness, in Laos, the People's Champ is on at midnight.
  7:57am jeff:

Good morning, Todd. Feeling nostalgic. How about NY's finest, the Senders?
Avatar 7:58am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Jeff I did see some great Senders shows, that's for sure...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am sphere:

hello todd-O-todd and all.
  8:12am Listener Robert:

Feel better, Ken, if you're reading this. Friends are getting respiratory infections all over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am crateslinger:

I voted for Todd in this space yesterday. Then I e-mailed Ken (link on the home page), and here I am once again voting for Todd. I love everything on WFMU, but I think a morning show in North Jersey needs to be a rock and roll show. So let's go. POW POW POW! Yell all you want Todd!
  8:14am dick sandwich no condiments:

Todd bringing it as always...not saying you're not giving the best you got, but since the morning show is a new thing, perhaps you'd enjoy these pointers from morning show bootcamp?
  8:15am Listener Robert:

If Tom S. or Chris T. were trying out for this, could we be snarky then? They made it part of their schtick, I think they'd've appreciated it.
  8:16am JakeGould:

Vote for Todd as well!
  8:17am Cliff in Prague:

no condiments - they don't have my favorite morning show game on there, "Race Horse, Rock Band, or Porno Flick?"
  8:18am Listener Robert:

I'm reserving my vote, but I will say Todd would have the advantage of not putting anyone back to sleep in this time zone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20am doctorjazz:

That was my first thought, imagine using Todd as wake up and trying to go back to sleep...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20am Mike Sin:

The fact that Wilson Pickett never cut a version of "Born on the Bayou" amazes me. The track sounds like it was a track tailor-made for his phrasing and delivery. Fogerty even sounds like he was using Pickett as the template.
Avatar 8:21am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Lots of great dj's still to audition here, including Matt Warwick a.k.a. Daddy Garbage a.k.a. Marmaduke tomorrow and Friday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am sphere:

Ken is auditioning DJs until May, right? we have a long way to go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23am Bootsie:

T Rex is ALWAYS a good choice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24am crateslinger:

Mayhem in the am. just noticed that. chuckle.
  8:25am Listener Robert:

Reggae by contrast would put people back to sleep. I put in word too late to get my friend Fred Cookinham to put in for this, but I realize now that if it's the wake-up effect that's being sought, he wouldn't be so great for that either.

But maybe that's too narrow thinking, considering the proportion of audience that comes via stream. Maybe we should be serenading those big donors in Singapore, getting them to reach for checkbooks just before bed.

I've been scouting the talent at NewtRadio, new webstreamers whose studio I stumbled on Newton last week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am sphere:

we could review the food shops at Singaporean hawker centers. who makes the best Hainan rice?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28am crateslinger:

I think a killer morning show on terrestrial radio in NYC is a great idea. You all are really just listening in after all. No offense.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28am Brian C.:

Who needs bed music when you've got a voice as silky as Todd O'Fonic Todd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30am Bootsie:

@crateslinger I do concur!
  8:32am Listener Robert:

True in that there still are a lot of listeners w only AM-FM radio in their cars. (Not many cars still on the road w only AM.) However, my housemate, who's an even longer-rime listener to WFMU than me, has satellite receiver in his pickup truck.
Avatar 8:32am Jess_in_Nola:

Todd is the BEST! Killin' it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am Passaic River Blues:

Todd is certainly acquitting himself well. MORE MORNING FUNK!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am crateslinger:

Yeah when I moved out of my last apartment, I found an old 30 foot long WFMU antenna that was so painted over and hadn't been used in seven years. It wound across the ceiling through a closet and out the window. I listen to the digital signal now too. Except in the car.
  8:37am Dungaroos Kipawah:

I nominate TOPT for hardest working man in radio biz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am crateslinger:

sorry the antenna was only 18 years old.
  8:41am ratty:

bad brother!.... best line of the week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am Bootsie:

I listen mostly over the airwaves, especially in the morning when I can't be bothered to boot up my computer during my usual pre-work scramble. Always hated turning on my stereo (which would usually be tuned to FMU from the night before) and hearing that old morning show. And it was so jarringly out of place on such an otherwise cool station.
  8:43am Dungaroos Kipawah:

Ahhhh, that's the stuff there
  8:43am Jiva from Bay Ridge:

Great show, Todd! Will we hear ya in the mornings again????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am crateslinger:

Every time I speak up on here I just get all nostalgic. I'm really not one of those guys who complains about how much the city has changed I swear. But it was way better back then. Sucks now. All these people laughing in their sweaters.
  8:47am Listener Robert:

Bootsie, EVERYTHING has always been jarringly out of place on WFMU. Charmingly so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49am doctorjazz:

Using the internet for almost all my listening (reception not great in my neck of Jersey or Staten Island where I work), but seems to be fine in the car over the air.
Avatar 8:51am Sem Chumbo:

Thanks for a powerful dose of TRIPLE Pow this AM, Todd. See you around.
  8:51am Listener Robert:

Bootsie, WFMU has a tradition of various religions' being represented: Jewish (as mentioned above), Xtian (Kevin Nutt), Satanic (Dum-Dum, Kamikaze Diane), Buddhist (Alan Watts)...how many am I missing?
  8:51am Cliff in Prague:

One of my life goals is to move somewhere within WFMU broadcast range
Avatar 8:51am jamesie:

power pop pop powwww!
Avatar 8:52am Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Maybe I should do more shows on 1 hour sleep! Thanks everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am Bootsie:

@Listener Robert, the rest of the out of place has all been the good kind. ;-)
  8:53am Mike Flynn:

It's so cool listening to the Groovies in drive time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am Bronwyn Bishop:

Just catching the end of the show Todd- good stuff!
  8:54am Listener Robert:

I remember when there were TWO Hebrew & Jewish programs in a morning block on WFMU.
Avatar Wake Supporter Hellraiser 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Hellraiser 2022 Swag For Life Member 8:56am Ken From Hyde Park:

Cut Worms and Hookworms would make a nice double bill.
  8:56am Listener Robert:

Wait a minute...wasn't there also an Hour of Slack (Ivan Stang) on WFMU at one time? Or am I mixing that up w another stn.?
  8:57am Cliff in Prague:

Thank you T-o-P-Todd!
