Jarreau-ish delivery here. It counts as a tribute.

what was his one hit - 'good morning?' one with the video that looks like an uncle remus movie.

Al Jarreau's "Take Five" is pretty classic. And top of the morning to you, Joe!

I know "We're in This Love Together" from Al Jarreau.
  11:36am
Dean:

"Thinkin' About It, Too," the opening track on All Fly Home, is sublime pop/jazz. The entire double-live album is great. Maybe "We Got By," which closes it. His covers on All Fly Home are lovely, too.

His version of Spain by Chick Corea is great.

  11:43am

I didn't think about that, Dale. Yesterday my fear had been of losing juice here. but all that happened was some icy branches, not heavy enough to make a hole, bouncing off the roof last night. So yeah, hoping it's as you say, external to WMFU.
  11:44am
Brendan:

The Smooth Jazz /Soft Office Rock era scared me from ever getting close to Al's music. Was afraid it would be a gateway drug so I kept it at arms length. Well actually thats not true. I think it was the gag reflux.

END net neutrality, Rabbit? To my knowledge that hasn't been FCC policy anyway, just the threat of it.

I hear you, @Brendan. I had the same problem, but constant exposure at a record store job in the late '70s helped me learn to enjoy it selectively. And nobody would dispute that Al Jarreau's voice and delivery were distinctive, like him or not.
