i didn't listen until the early 1990s so i don't know this deejay.

@P-90, we love 'giddy' Sheila

If anyone's good at Illustrator they could do a Sheila coat of arms, with a guitar, a huge Shangri-las hairdo, A Courrèges dress, a glass of Champagne and a sash that says whatever "Always giddy" is in Latin. Go to it!

Do agree! This show makes my day/week. Keep going, girl!

Avatar 4:03pm ncjay:

@Sheila I bought the Temples song from iTunes before you had even finished playing it! I thought it was lovely too
  4:03pm modchick65:

I meant to actually respond on that point, but I got pulled into a meeting. I actually prefer your fast-talking, Sheila. I've always thought FM radio was lame because all the DJs sounded like they were on Prozac or something (now I realize it was most likely pot). They all had these deep, dead-air filled voices. Just always struck me as really pretentious and lame. Part of the reason I like your show is it's not that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Adrian in London:

@Cliff, Yes, The Combine Harvester. I once saw them, marvellously, support British Sea Power.
  4:05pm Joe R.:

No "She Shiela" by The Producers?
  4:05pm Clïff in Prägůe:

British Sea Power, now that is a great name for a band.

Hey Shelia! Big fan of the show, what do you think of Molly Burch? If you've heard of her. (Shes great)

  4:17pm P-90:

"Levis in Perpetuum" is an alternative, but I don't think it coveys the spirit as well, also it sounds regrettably like a slogan for jeans...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Adrian in London:

@Cliff Hmm, I don;t really go out for curries, but if you email me via my profile I'll send you some ideas. Oh, if you eat you might like this place www.theguardian.com...

@ Christine: There's also a French version by Liliane (Il est revenu) but I don't know an English version of the song. That's probably the reason why you couldn't place it

This show kicks ass for star-clicking goin' on. I noticed how many clicked one that I chose, then checked random others. Comparable activity may be out there among shows, but I haven't seen it. An orgy of favoriting up in here! Not just 2 and 3 clicks -- sometimes 8 and 9.
  4:36pm modchick65:

Omg. Yes, those songs always went together. Although I think Easy Lover was 8th grade and Part Time Lover was 9th grade. We're gonna need some "Get Outta My Dreams And Into My Car" next.
  4:36pm P-90:

I confess with no shame whatsoever that I have always ADORED "Easy Lover"

Phil Collins, being played UNironically on WFMU. You're the bomb Sheila!!

@ Rob Kopp - funnily enough, I often know the French version of something over the English, so was thinking French first...but I think I know the German version of this one better.

A Friday afternoon meeting?!? Really?!? Sheeze, just got back to the show ...
  5:30pm JasonInBoston:

Oh man that Linda Jones is such a scorcher. Over a massive soundsystem in a large hall, it's even more mindblowing. You can even hear the parts where the song breaks down where you're supposed to spin and do the acrobatics. You'd think it was tailor-made for Northern Soul.
