Besides the business reasons I've given for selecting Mr. Jones for this job, I'll state that his music selection is appropriately boring. It's music I wouldn't listen to WFMU for for most purposes, but it makes sense for people waking up & getting going at this time in this time zone.

Even his Sun. afternoon show, I don't listen to for the music. It's comfort music, but mostly I don't need that type of comfort. I time my tuning in for his & Burnsy's 1st mic break. And that mic break is entirely different from his mic breaks here; he has the morning mood figured out.

But what's wrong w discussing things here from a biz POV? A lot of us are very much into it as consumers, & would like to think about things from the other side.

It's like after I was coaching children in football for a few years, I wasn't interested any more in being a mere spectator. After I'd been making my own fireworks for a while, it was no longer fun to shoot commercial works.
