I wrote a movie set in 1972 and listened to the hot 100 list of 1972 like 5000000 times while writing it and now this song is etched into my brain. speaking of which, i gotta revise that thing.

@Cheri: for me that was Skeeter Davis' "end of the world" -- eerie stuff.

Indeed @REV, that 5 yr old looking into the void feeling still hasn't gone away

Also the birthday of Kurt Julian Weill and Theodor Seuss Geisel.
  3:28pm

Speaking of birthdays, Sunday will be Mark E Smith's 60th. One week later, the 60th anniversary of the publication of The Cat in the Hat.

These are all related.

I'm planning to increase my swag for life contribution. Mostly because I think I've grown by a shirt size and that might tank WMFU with the additional cost of fabric

Jeezus. First WFMU shirt? I think it was a Choking on Cufflinks design with the Bibendum character & some levitating smiley mouths. 2007-ish?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm

Rev. Turnip Druid - I think you can still buy that one directly from WFMU for half the price. I've been checking ebay on a regular basis for out of print WFMU shirts. I've found a couple of classics. But i refuse to pay more than what a t-shirt is worth.

Not to be too annoying here, but I have to point out that The Third Man was not directed by Welles, but Carol Reed. Though Welles pretty much stole the show and chewed up every scene he is in...
