good morning Jonesey and everybody.
  6:12am Jonesey:

Hey folks, Thanks Stuntz--a good pal of mine was kind enough to archive that opener which was recorded live at FMU on Jonesville Station. You can find it on the archives at www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 6:16am PsychopathJimFields:

Good Morning, Mayor of Mayors!!!!!!
We got some traffic and some weather.
Traffic- Big mess on the BQE by the Kosciuszko Bridge.
There's a mess on the LIE, of course.
There was a jack-knifed trailer on 95 South around Exit 72 on the Jersey Side.
Weather- Wet, and that's gonna make more traffic messes.
There are some trains messed up too.
I suggest you take the day off and drink heavily.
And smoke'em if you got'em!
Have a happy day!!!!!!!!!!

We need more songs like this that is a call for peace and harmony.

An artwork of an unidentified person is a "nude". An artwork of a named person is considered "naked". and who says my art degree wasnt worth anything!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11am annie:

it's funny cooh, i hear that song now and it makes me melancholy that we still have a long way o go..
  7:15am Cooh John:

Yes, annie. We like to think we are 'advanced' as a society. We can make leaps and bounds technologically but crawl sociologicaly. Sigh.
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:15am Threemoons:

Aaaah, ULTRAVOX...one of my fave songs by them....
  7:16am Andy:

Checking in from Dublin, Ireland, great tunes, making work time fly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22am JM:

Good Morning Mayor and fellow IBJ.
My favorite moment of this whole audition period is when Jonsey went from a Tony Bennett song to Led Zeppelins Moby Dick as only Jonsey could or would!
  7:25am Mandy:

hey North Jerz woofmooers if you are driving up 17 near Hohokus and Saddlebrook there's a big accident be careful out there
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:26am Threemoons:

@Mandy: Makes me SO not miss the mornings that I had to take a 6:20 AM bus from Suffern to NYC and go through that kind of mess pretty much every other day....le sigh...
Avatar 7:27am Wild Neil:

Peace all. LIKE Blondie a lot!
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

How's come I've never heard this nice Blondie song before? It's so good. Is it off their new album?
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:30am Threemoons:

Ken--nope, ancient--Parallel Lines IIRC.
Avatar 7:31am Wild Neil:

@Ken-its from 1978's Parallel Lines...I think Robert Fripp played some on this album too.
  7:32am Mandy:

@Threemoons I think 287 is probably the worst road. It has those wide open lanes that make people fly at 80+ mph and when there is a crash it's a crazy flipped over firey explosion and there's no off ramps to escape if youre stuck in the traffic.
  7:34am Jonesey:

Yes it is Parallel Lines, first single off of it if I am not mistaken.
  7:35am tfunk:

Stones 4ever
Avatar 7:35am Wild Neil:

I think I used to drive the 287 going to Pellet Records (defunct) in Morristown if I am not mistaken.....from NW Warren/Sussex county line in NJ....
  7:35am tfunk:

"Take me down, little Susie!"
Avatar 7:35am Sean B.:

Sounding great Glen!.
  7:36am Tom:

Jonesy -
Besides Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's rock concert, There was also ABC's "In Concert". I don't know what night it was on. But saw lots of great bands. It's the first time I ever saw The original Mahavishnu Orchestra!
Avatar 7:38am Wild Neil:

and lets not forget Supersonic!
  7:38am wendy del formaggio:

Another great morning with Glen Jones!
  7:39am Riggs:

Saw Queen circa '76 at The Beacon Theater. I remember the NY TIMES critic claim that Freddie Mercury wore a chest hair piece!!??
  7:39am Tom:

Never heard of it Neil. Are you sure that was in the US? In Concert I saw right here in the tri-state area. I'm pretty sure that Glenn and I are about the same age, too.
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 Wake Golden Glistener Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:39am Threemoons:

Jonesey I thought Heart of Glass was the 1st single off of Parallel Lines?
  7:43am Jonesey:

Could be Threemoons, certainly was the biggest single and Tom I forgot about In Concert, cool.
  7:49am ans:

long time ago that I heard this swinging pointer sisters!! Yeah!
  7:50am wendy del formaggio:

This Pointer Sisters number reminds me of "Hit or Miss" by Odetta, another great song.

Avatar 8:01am Sean B.:

@Jonesey = I remember Don Kirshner's rock concert being a kid as it was the only place else I knew of to see concerts and I believe music videos at the end of the show. And I remember, also, getting the Album Jazz by Queen and being like 9 years old and and opening the album and viewing the inside picture sleeve & seeing the naked bicycle race picture and being like hmmmmm...what's this here? Lol. And yes...Debbie Harry was my very first crush...dang she a beauty to behold. Love her voice also. Then in my area it was wrko am radio in the Boston area, later wcoz Fm and then of course the Legendary Wbcn!.
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2022 8:03am Hank from Maplewood:
