To start off the show, Andy sets the tone by lowering expectations, describing the deep dark hole that he and Ken must crawl out of each week. Later in the show, it is revealed that Andy is having a bad day, so he solicits love bombs from callers.
The original premise of tonight's show ("My Wife is Smarter Than Your Wife") has been tabled, and instead, Ken and Andy hold a pre-Record Fair auction of featured albums from Nina Hagen, Joe Piscopo, Fairport Convention, Divine, Buffy St Marie, and James White & the Blacks. Featured tracks are also previewed.
The Nina Hagen and Divine albums garner lots of interest, inspiring some early bidding wars.
In the meantime, Andy shows off his clog dancing skills to Fairport Convention, and Ken discusses how he will miss part of the WFMU Record Fair for only the second time since it began.
As the show closes out, caller Rob offers winning bids on all of the records! He beats all existing bids by $5. Then, ANOTHER caller with a full time job (FM Mike) starts a last minute bidding war on Nina Hagen, winning it from Rob. Exciting finish!
