Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hey, what happened to the sum-sum-summertime weather we enjoyed yesterday? Quite a bit cooler out there today.
Avatar 3:18pm TehBadDr:

Avatar 3:28pm Mailman Tom:

It was great listening to the Atlantic Thrills play live at yesterday's record fair!
Avatar 3:30pm Tomophobic Tom:

Nice jam today Bill!!
Avatar 3:33pm Mailman Tom:

I remember hearing "Blame it on the Bossa Nova" on the radio when it was new!
Avatar 3:52pm Mailman Tom:

I also remember hearing "Bird Dog" on the jukebox while eating at a diner in the summer of 1958.
Avatar 3:52pm geezerette:

Love the Everly brothers but that sound comes from another planet.
Might as well be from the 19th century...not a bad thing, just sort of shocking to realize how completely different everything is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Dashem:

Smokin' set, Bill!
  4:19pm Jack:

I thought I was burned out on "Who Do You Love?", but I love this version!
Avatar 4:52pm Marc Francis:

Well, that was a hell of a fun time. Thanks Bill!
  10:15am the Vomettes:

Puke, puke, puke, puke and hurl,
puke, puke, puke and hurl,
puke, puke, puke and hurl,
puke, puke
  10:15am Rocky and Bullwinkle:

Moose, moose, moose, moose and squirrel,
moose, moose, moose and squirrel,
moose, moose, moose and squirrel,
moose moose

Of all the villians in this world,
None can stop the moose and squirrel . . .
  10:15am answer songs:

Gene Chandler's "Walk on with the Duke" answered himself and his "You Threw a Lucky Punch" answered Mary Wells' 1962 "You Beat Me To The Punch."
"Boom Boom" was the answer song to Freddy Cannon.
  10:19am answer songs:

the Vomettes were the answer to "Burgers and Chips" and "Cup of Coffee and A Piece of Pie"
  11:25am answer songs:

Halos' "Nag" is the answer to Jonesy's robocaller. Got one too, calling 4-5 times daily
  1:23am John from CDA:

Is it just me, or does "Need A Little Lovin'" sound like "Lucy Leave"?
  8:13am Uncle Pink Floyd:

Just another brick in the wall. Were both 1965 proto Pink Floyd and 1966 Foggy Notions (song by member Peter Hoy) emulating another recording? Found no contact info to send an inquiry. I suspect the online FOGGY NOTIONS bio at LastFM (see link below) lifts from Sundazed liner notes, probably narrated by band member David Lee. Alas, found no info on his current Joshua Tree, CA band, Burly Thistles, either.

“ . . . Old Town leather craftsman John Brown, who made the leather cape worn by David Crosby on the Byrds' Turn! Turn! Turn! Columbia album cover gave us [Foggy Notions] similar green and blue leather and suede capes to wear at gigs . . . Myself and Buzz Dommers appeared on the cover of Life Magazine, May 13th, 1966 [corrected date], as part of a spread on mod clothing [“Chicago Students Take To New Mod Gear,” see link below]. Near the end, I formed a group, now playing bass with Brian McGuinn, brother of the Byrds leader Roger Mc Guinn. David Crosby named the group "The Galactic Cavalry." We sold Roger McGuinn's clothes and school yearbooks to girls in the Byrds fan club who would hover around the family apartment on Division and Astor Street on the Near North Side. Peter Hoy's [“Need a Little Lovin'” songwriter, joined band] family lived in the Astor Tower Apartments on Astor and Goethe. When the Beatles played in Chicago in 1966, they stayed there. We were all very stoked because we could casually walk through the barricades of hundreds of fans outside and walk inside anytime. The Beach Boys checked in across the hall from Pete Hoy's family's apartment and we hung out with Mike Love and Bruce Johnston. Mike Love took us to breakfast in their limousine and walked into a restaurant with a drink in his hand. Pretty great times for us young impressionable teen musicians!” A later iteration opened for the Mamas and Papas.

  8:30am Uncle Pink Floyd:

CORRECTION: the Foggy Notions band bio appears to be from band founder and lead vocalist Michael Callan's email, and thus he would be on the May 13, 1966 Life magazine cover, and currently in band Burly Thistles
