floating out here in the void, just beyond the station, imaginary radio sounding clear and dreamy through the helmet speakers, i had to bring up the communicator to say, "hi. digging."

Love the tracks I have been hearing from this Bowie LP. And I'm not usually a live album person.

Peace all. Is this a NEW Hawkwind Album or is it a "new" Hawkwind album?
Avatar 1:36pm
Chris M.:

@Wild Neil: it's a new Dave Brock Hawkwind album if that's what you mean
Avatar 1:37pm
Chris from DC:

Appears to be NEW. Kind of digging it.
Avatar 1:37pm
Wild Neil:

You know, you COULD play some Masters of Reality right now...they are pretty good actually but never made it big....
@Chris-oh I only meant is it a reissue?
Avatar 1:42pm
Chris from DC:

Yes, that's what I was wondering too when that popped up.

Missed th'Hawkwind. Aye, Neil, that one came out last week. Kind of a sequel to The Machine Stops from last year...

this sounds like Britney fronting Neurosis. I didn't say I didn't like it.
Avatar 2:06pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

@Neil: funny I haven't heard references to Masters of Reality since syracuse days. Allegedly there's the "genuinely good stuff" sitting on tapes somewhere, never to be released (pre-Blue Garden material), with more Mr.Owl presence...

I have mixed emotions about the WFMU Hippie Swag GIF.
Avatar 2:36pm
Chris M.:

@Lixiviated Life: are those emotions melancholy and ambivalence?
Avatar 2:36pm
Wild Neil:

@Rev-there is a really really talented artist named John Leamy who was involved with them...only to be replaced by Ginger Baker of Cream! FASCINATING that there is a trove of pre Blue Garden stuff! (John Leamy painted that cover, by the way!) @bill-youtube John Leamy and the lead singer from Masters and him do a thing at Lucious Vinyl record store....
Avatar 2:37pm
Wild Neil:

Chris Goss?
Avatar 2:39pm
Wild Neil:

Delicious Vinyl label, sorry...
Avatar 2:41pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I thought the Sufferbus LP (the one with ginger baker) had its moments but lacked that feral magic. Mutual friends w/Egg in Syracuse were closer to that scene & knew much more than I, about the history, Mr.Owl, etc.. but it sounded like the real schnizzit was the early shows up there...

also: YAY, th'Wooley track.

Hello DJ Imaginary Radio Chris M. Thanks for the show but I can't tell what in the material world is real or just imaginary. Thanks for not helping.

sublime. much thanks, Chris M.
  2:55pm
bill:

I remember seeing a Sufferbus video on MTV. Maybe someone thought having Mr. "how to make a cup of tea" Baker on board would help, but by then their feral eyes had dimmed

Awww bummer! I was just sitting here working away and didn't notice it was 2pm (my time). Great show today, Chris M! Thanks!
