Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Artie Haywire:

Slashey rhythm tele? Must be Dr. Feelgood!
Avatar 2:24pm geezerette:

How come no girl doo-wop groups? Guess the Shangri-Las kind of were, but no others come to mind.
Speaking on behalf of crazy little mamas everywhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Nate K.:

Hey, Matt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Nate K.:

@Geezerette, the Chantels are one of my faves. But there didn't appear to be too many.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Matt F:

The Bobettes!
Avatar 2:31pm still b/p:

Give doo wop girl groups a search geezerette and find the Bobbettes and others on lists and YouTube. Looks like good sounds to browse.
Avatar 2:33pm Sean B.:

Chuck!. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Nate K.:

There definitely seems to be a greater focus on the capital-G Girl Groups from a few years after the doo-wop heyday, than girl doo-wop groups, but I'd be interested in learning more.
Avatar 2:34pm geezerette:

@Nate, thanks!, haven't heard them but I will.
@Swingin'BP, thanks!
I'll be youtube-ing after show, exciting.
Avatar 2:36pm geezerette:

"Nasty, dirty double-crossin', backstabblin' phony I didn't have to wanna have to deal with"--fucking Dylan, man. I'll never count the ol' coot out.
Avatar 3:00pm Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, geezerette! Did many Friday and Saturday overnights on the college radio station, playing nothing but the blues. Love all of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Matt F:

DK- Not only is that line great, but it's there to rhyme with "Goldsmith".
Avatar 3:03pm geezerette:

Same here Sem. :)
  3:08pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

@Matt: indeed. For a guy who can't sing, he can work more words into a line and stay on meter better than most humans. It's always dazzling.
Avatar 3:12pm Dominick:

Damn this is down
Avatar 3:15pm Monica:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Matt F:

Mo, I know, heard this in my local bar last night and was struck how much it sounds like one of those Grace Jones records with Sly & Robbie...
